Re: Setup of the day thread?
That setup is soliiiiiiid.
I guess carrying around the Echoplex is a big problem, but the results must be amazing..
Besides the small size (which is my main concern about it) how do you liked the Blooper?

What version board do you have on the DL4. I'm not sure if you've seen the mods for fixing the volume drop. I put actual stomp switches in mine

RE: Blooper. It is okay. I was never fond of the way the stomps are implemented. I think they dropped the ball on basic stompswitch operation. There is no reason why holding two stomps to clear a loop is necessary. All they had to do was look at and copy how a DL4 handles the Record and Play functions and the basic if-then operation that occurs. The proximity of the footswitches is the CBA gimmick, and I will always think that is clumsy and sucks. Obviously in the minority about it with my correct opinions, but whatever. Although you can connect a remote switch to operate as the Record button, and it would allow you to put the Blooper on the table for much needed hands on operation. The other solution they point to is MIDI controllers, although they don't give a lot of CC values for the modifiers either (maybe they have updated some values for things like quantized speed). The modifiers are pretty cool and they have a web editor to setup which ones you want in each bank. The combinations are fun. Lots of good things going on with loop manipulation, and being able to treat it all as an effect or have it sort of baked into the loop. There is quite a bit to enjoy, really. I just will never get over the small enclosure and stomp operations. If they want to do a V2 for people with adult feet, something like a DL4, I would be into that.

Re: Setup of the day thread?
I have replaced the stomps before. Seen the mods, not fun on that SMD board. Been meaning to ask Line 6 if they want to discuss version history of DL4s. I've noticed component changes near the incoming rectifier converting power to DC and at least two different PCB colors. I have long suspected several things about their versions based on the seven I have owned. An original run unit I had didn't sound that bad as one from mid-2000s. Had a new DL4 in 2012 (I think) and it had zero volume issues. So I think they might have changed some components for cost cutting and introduced a volume drop to some models, that was later fixed on a subsequent revision. I know nothing, just speculating.BetterOffShred wrote:What version board do you have on the DL4. I'm not sure if you've seen the mods for fixing the volume drop. I put actual stomp switches in mine

Re: Setup of the day thread?
Largely because of FEBER, I turned over about 3/4th of my setup to open up some space on my ironing board.

This is basically three separate loops, by the way,
1) mini-kaoss Pad > Eno looper > Bakvendt > Feber
2) 60 Second Delay > MS70-CDR > Stereo Looper
3) Mooer D7 [delay] > Mooer E7 [synth]
This was also to finally test out that l'il pink Mooer delay, which I got a while back + promptly loaned to a friend. Turns out it is super tasty.

The delay is fine as a normal delay (its vanilla mode is a tape emulation). Feedback cranked up gives infinite repeats in most modes, and then take that time knob to zero and you can get some goofy runaway self-oscillation. (and sweeping it gets that lovely digital glitchy stuff.)
The other delay modes basically have one or two effects on the repeats: step phaser, stutter + pitch (rainbow machine), slow gear + chorus, reverse delay + flange and a bit crusher that gets ludicrously noisy cranked all the way up.
It also has a built-in 150-second looper which runs through the delay. (Adding little bursts of self-oscillation to punctuate the loops is pretty nifty.)
Cranking those into the synth pedal (especially if you set the delay to infinite repeats) gives you heaps of sounds. You could legit do a harsh noise set with just these two pedals. (I guess you'd still need a half-hour to set up, tho, given my observation of harsh noise shows.)
Definitely makes it way more likely I'll be getting the "ambient" reverb one in this series to put at the end of this mini-chain. (I believe you can have infinite trails with it.)
For $130 bucks (Canadian) apiece, these are crazy good.

Re: Setup of the day thread?
This setup is quite fun, let me elaborate

The SP-202 goes into the mixer, and the guitar + pedalboard is plugged directly into the mic of the SP-202. The line-in cables are connected for sampling from my phone or from the phones output of the mixer itself. So I can plug in my Analog Four or Octatrack into the mixer and record with it while also sampling bits of that instrument into the 202 with little effort.
The pedals on the mixerboard are also ideal. The Metal zone fucks everything up, the memory loss can glitch anything out and make it disgusting. The rv-2 is a bit meh but it is a nice lofi-reverb to add there, and if I want the big nice reverbs I have them in my DAW anyways.
Then the pedalboard

Quite simple: designed to make and fuck up loops essentially. The hole is where the memory loss was until I transferred it to the mixerboard instead, dont know what I'll throw in there instead by I might just leave it

Sweet setup. Needs more clips.
And that D7 sounds interisting, Heraclitus!

Re: Setup of the day thread?
This page is
@fck seriously the weirdest (and loveliest) setup i've seen in a while. Seems 100% sampling-focused, you use the SP also to sample&resample&mangle&trigger the guitar? noice
@heraclitus another perfectsampling/droning setup, how are you liking the Feber?
I am really trying to make smaller setups focused on what i want to play in that moment, in the past always ended up trying to fit all the pedals i could to make the board flexible for a multitude of things, and because of this i always had a hard time concentrating on just oa few things. The fact that I'm still waiting for my power unit to be repaired, so i can't run more than a handful of pedals at the same time, is really helping in this.

Re: Setup of the day thread?
Super down with the Feber, it works great in a couple different ways. Having the SUB mode to do the slow modulations is great for hints of background movement, and then all the cranked-up over-the-top stuff is just lovely. And I'm a huge fan of Sample + Hold / stepped phaserish sounds, so being able to mash the momentary switch for S+H warbles if doubleplusfab.Dowi wrote:

NS fretted cello > board... plus drumz all recorded on a Zoom H2n

So yeah the boss pedal... not as awesome as the RE-201 but the same setting gets close enough for demo-ing and not waisting tape and adding wear to a 40+ year old effects unit.. The one KEY thing is like the real space echoes the way it blends with your clean sound is so unobtrusive compared to most delays.. even that T-rex replicatorthingywhateveritscalled don't come close like the Re-20 does where it just does it's thing and doesn't make a big mess or is inaudible...

P.s: no the gong is not in the picture
