I didn't know it was a Rocky Horror Picture Show song until the girlfriend pointed it out.

I'm a fan of just about all of them though this last record from a couple of months ago, Never, hasn't grabbed me yet. Bought it without listening to it and have given it a couple spins and just not hitting me. Might be a little too "modern" and "produced" for my ears. Give him kudos though for pushing his sound on it.

He has another coming up that has a bit of Ascension-era vibe to it, if the first song is to be an indicator.

On a related note: The post-Jesu Godflesh stuff kills, hope he continues to explore that.

Last Jesu album I listen to properly is Everyday I get closer.. Haven't listened to the latest ones but just because I constantly forgot to.
Anyway Friends are Evil remains one of my favorite jams ever, heartbreaking.

Agreed that Post Self was surprisingly good.

Tried also to listen to JK Flesh but I wasn't really caught by that project.

Yep, me too, meant to at least watch Rocky Horror and never done it. But musicals, blech. Blech, blech, blech. The most. mundane. ever. It's like what aliens would think humans would want to hear if the aliens had only ever observed babies with puppies. But the girlfriend insists that Rocky Horror is different so will check it out at some point. Also, Jesu covered one of the songs . . . so there's that.

Friends Are Evil is great, that whole first record was eye opening. His three layered approach (heavy guitar, floating sound that to me sounds like sampled feedback, synth) to much of that record and Conqueror, and much of all of Jesu really, was something I took note of and explore still.

JK Flesh is a bit all over the place. I kind of lost track actually until I happened to hear In Your Pit, ep from last year, which I quite like and got me interested in listening to more. The other JK Flesh still all over the place.

eh... what?

I mean sure, it still works as/like a musical, so I'll give you that
but.. but..
one major difference is that RHPS
is AWESOME?

the theme, the aesthetic, a soundtrack full of songs that are actually great, heartfelt performances

both Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon are hot af
plus you get a young Meatloaf

what's there not to love?

okok, this is all IMHO YMMV of course,
but my opinion on this whilst humble is quite strong
can you tell?
aural conjunctions on SC

I hate moodswings are awesome! Oh, and I usually post when I'm way too tired...

Have seen JK Flesh live a couple of times and it's always been great, but the studio stuff is hit or miss. New Horizon was really good though. Haven't listened to the newest one.

Godflesh in a lumbershed is probably always going to be one of my top gigs of all time:
