Re: analog delays, so many of these god damn things
Not all delays will stay in sync after you tap without running a constant MIDI clock. Had a friend with a dual DD-7 setup and an external tap tempo with 2 outputs all connected and that would drift apart after a bit. Maybe it seems obvious, maybe not. The fix is to tap often enough. Though hearing delays fall out of sync is pretty cool too.

Re: analog delays, so many of these god damn things
It is like you tell it this is the tempo, and then the pedals try to maintain it off their internal timing, but some imprecise clock allowed just a tiny bit of drift. Even if it was only .01 millisecond off from each other it eventually becomes out of sync over time. Maybe YMMV? Maybe it isn't that much of an issue until you are playing for a minute straight with synced delays. I don't mean to be a bummer but I know it was an issue on two digital delays, which we thought would be better aligned with each other.pigmaker wrote:didnt know that. that sucks

Re: analog delays, so many of these god damn things
If I absolutely have to have my delay in sync for a part in a song, I always make sure I give myself time to tap the tempo during the song before I have to activate the effect. Otherwise it’s always a little off. I don’t doubt that midi-syncing would fix this, but it makes me wonder if there would be occasional audio artifacts from the delay correcting its tempo to match the midi clock?

Re: analog delays, so many of these god damn things
somehow, after all these years, i have never once used a delay with tap tempo IIRC, either external or built into the pedal itselfcodetocontra wrote:It is like you tell it this is the tempo, and then the pedals try to maintain it off their internal timing, but some imprecise clock allowed just a tiny bit of drift. I imagine these would be so small it would be pretty unnoticeable since it'll be correcting itself with tiny drifts before you can even perceive the change in time.01010111 wrote:If I absolutely have to have my delay in sync for a part in a song, I always make sure I give myself time to tap the tempo during the song before I have to activate the effect. I certainly find that with midi/CV clocked stuff in general. If it's clocked with a steady pulse it stays ok

Have you checked out this one? https://www.buyanalogman.com/Analog_Man ... ardx20.htm
Looks like it has a mod for external tap, if I'm reading it right.

it seems pretty clear that Meet Maude is made for cleans and that's it.
Son, I don't even do cleans.
Saved my ass like 200 bucks with this..thanks tone report. For real.
I realise this is a very late pass, but I just want to chime in and mention that this review is kinda bogus. The controls on the MM are a bit finicky and very interactive; especially the tone and the feedback. The idea that it doesn't work w distortion in front of it is... uh, not really a thing.
I have no idea what you're actually looking for if the MM is a good choice or not, but I wouldn't want to see it discounted based on someone not understanding how it works.

i really dig on that pedal from the demos i have heard, but i think u need that Amaze0 thing to do the tap and so that's like 400 bucks or at least 350 for the two pieces together, usedEivind August wrote:Have you checked out this one? https://www.buyanalogman.com/Analog_Man ... ardx20.htm

Re: analog delays, so many of these god damn things
The DOD Rubberneck has tap tempo integrated but also a jack for an external footswitch which can command tap tempo too, maybe you could pair it with one of these https://www.disasterareaamps.com/shop/m ... controller and command 3 pedals with it.
"Synchronize two tap-tempo compatible pedals plus control one additional device with tap tempo, MIDI, or control voltage."
Don't know if it could work, maybe shoot a message to Disaster Area, they're usually fast with answers.

Re: analog delays, so many of these god damn things
I think the Rubberneck external tap is on the diode isolated switch on the FS3x. It’d be a doable DIY to wire up a little 1590LB with a momentary switch and a TRS jack: use two diodes, 1N4001 on 1N4148, one wired to ring, one wired to tip, joined after their cathodes (the banded side) to one side of the momentary with the other side of the momentary wired to sleeve. (And you do have to use a TRS stereo cable, not a normal TS.)

That does seem like a very cool pedal indeed. Those jam pedals things are quite good, the ones I've tried that is
