Re: DBA Rooms?
you can run it in a parallel. it sounds that way from the video. this reminds me of the boss rack reverb from the late 80's. rooms has way more features but the reverb seems pretty standard. I hear delay into reverb actually. there is modulation on delay time.Christophe wrote:What struck me in the demo from the Pedalzone, is how you can have that massive reverberated sound and still have a strong dry signal. Because that's always a thing with reverb right? When you're looking for a huge, drenched atmosphere, you often need to push it to the wet side, but then you lose too much of your dry signal. But the Rooms seems to give you a good balance between a strong dry signal and a really spacious sound (like a Bigsky would).CrazyDroneDream wrote:What really makes the ROOMS great is that you can mix it in with other effects more than other Reverb pedals. You can control the master volume, volume cut off, mix, dry and wet. So it can play well with other effects perfectly.
I'm now wondering how it sits in a band mix... did you get a chance to try that?

Oh my gawd...
I'm just back from the store, after spending a moment with Rooms...
... and it's utterly amazing! I didn't expect so many sounds, so many possibilities, and the tremendous sense of space... This is the absolute reverb, up there with the Big Sky. Having vibrato mod on reverb trails is glorious... The pitch-shift/time effects, usually associated with analog delays are there too. This is truly a top notch achievement.
And I was only testing in mono...
The only (minor) drawback is the footswitches... the same as on their other pedals, the stomp-with-all-your-weight type... This is 2020, soft switches would have been a nice thing.
But anyway, Now I have to sell a couple of pedals to fund this...

Glad to hear you are really liking it. It does have just a really “huge” sound that I don’t think any demos have shown off. It sounds better in person.Christophe wrote:Oh my gawd...

It's lacking trails too, if I'm not mistaken... Which is a real bummer for a massive reverb... But still, what a sound!
