Jaguar. Opinions?

Post by bdunlap »

I'm gassing pretty hard for a Jaguar reissue, might have something to do with the Placebo fix I've been on lately. How do they play with your fuzzes? Good clean tone? How about some distortion?

JAGUARS ARE AWESOME AND YOU SHOULD GET ONE.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Current ILF Love: OHNOHO CHK CHK BOOM, Mellowtone Melx Fuzz 2, EQD Dream Crusher, Devi Ever ID, Dr. Scientist Proto-Miniberator - new vids eventually

jaguars used to be the cheap guitars nobody wanted. now that ppl want them. i'm basically searching for the cheap guitars nobody wants. same thing goes w/ synthesizers. pedals. et cetera.

i still would like to have a Jag HH. but even if i can get one used its still like way more than i've personally ever paid, or want to pay, for a guitar.

That is a well loved Jaguar. Wish I had the luck to find one, but I dread going to the pawnshops around here.

I have a classic players jazzmaster (played the jaguar too) and love it... one of the main reasons is the neck and the fact the bridge has no problems compared to the original bridge! the "trem thing" is far from a fail...

Only problem with them for people who are used to the older tremolo units is the trem. arm, its a bit lower than the MIJ and AVRI and my mate who has a MIJ always complains its too low for him to play glide with.. although i find it pretty good... probably what you're used to i guess.

I don't like Jaguars with humbuckers. I also recently discovered that I don't like playing glide guitar.

Do it.

FWIW, every one of my demos is my Jaguar. I took one of those CIJ Special HH's, took out the HB's and the JagBlaster pickguard, replaced with Jag Single Coils, and added a Bigsby with a Vibramate.

It's like my dream guitar now. All I need is a tort pickguard, as I've gotten a bit bored with the aged pearloid that's on it.
