Yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking. As an aside, since my wife and I separated, she now has no idea what I spend on gear, which is a huge relief. Except for a minute earlier this week I thought maybe I had forgotten to switch bank accounts on Reverb, and had a brief moment of panic.cantremember wrote:I was kind of against it at first because they just made it so that you have to have your bank account linked to your account instead of paypal. I would sell stuff, the buyer would pay and I would have that money in my paypal immediately but now that they got rid of paypal it takes a few days. A friend of mine said that the money wouldn't show up until it was shipped or something like that and I thought that sucked but he is pretty new to reverb and I have been with them for years. Anyways, I asked about becoming a preferred seller and they told me that I had to update my account so that it was like that too. So that's why I didn't do that. Then I sold something last month and the money never showed up in my paypal account and the reverb dude told me that you have to link your bank account to get your money now because it was "safer" than paypal. I think that really sucks because I have a shared bank account with my significant other and my paypal was like my gear account. Now she sees what I spend on gear and I don't like that. I guess since they make you link your bank account now regardless, why not? I never had problems selling on reverb without it so I don't know if it actually matters.
Should I sign up to be a Reverb Preferred Seller? +/-?

Its really annoying having to tell someone else, "hey I just sold something don't spend my money" or having to explain why I spent X amount a pedal. I also really don't understand how that is actually safer than paypal, I just think its easier for them to side with the buyer and get them their money back if they bitch about something.Errant Tiger wrote:Yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking. I applied, so I guess we'll see what happens.
This all came about because I'm selling a bunch of a stuff for a friend, which has boosted both the amount of sales and the dollar value (I guess that's obvious), but isn't likely to go on forever, so who knows if it'll even be an issue very much after a couple months.

It sucks you can't sell on reverb without a bank account now. And you can't even use the piled up money to spend on reverb. It has to be deposited first. I don't want to give them my bank account. One company having it is enough. Pretty much done with them in general.
Watch out selling for a friend. You'll have the taxable income (depending on state and amount sold).

Yeah, we've got that covered. Thanks though - it definitely wasn't the first thing that came to mind.lordgalvar wrote:It sucks you can't sell on reverb without a bank account now.
