I'm a big fan of thou and was really into nirvana as a lad. That being said, this album rips!

I really like the new Behold The Arctopus.


It's a bit different from their previous stuff, with a little more breathing room. If you saw them on the tour where the toms were covered with blankets, with mixed percussion instruments on top, it's that material.

Man I cannot get into this sort of "arbitrarily press the mute button on tracks" type of stuff and I hold BTA as the worst offenders around... But! The embedded track sounds great and obviously these guys can play the hell out of their instruments.

It's just not for me in the slightest.

I actually didn't love it. Regrettably I would have to say I preferred the covers of the hits (which are fantastic), while the rest of it was... fine but not as good as any other Thou albums?

I believe it's just a collection of things they've done over the years rather than a record they've deliberately put together from scratch so that's fair enough.

Yes it definitely seems to be a sort of b-sides thing, so i didn't ecpected it to have the cohesiveness of an album.
