This is a more refined version of that thing I posted in modified New Standard Tuning the other day.

Never tried NST properly because of all the hassle of the dedicated string gauges, a couple years ago i just set up the first 5 strings in NST without changing cauge, but the different tension on each string made it almost unplayable. It's definitely something i want to try sooner or later.

Set up one of my guitars in a modified NST the other day (achievable with normal string gauges)

Been wonderin' what it'd be like to try an "anti-Nashville" "Doom" tuning by replacing all the treble strings with bass strings. :doom: :idk:

:omg: You should! you might be able to get some interesting chord structures.. although the sound to comes to me for a tuning like that is more hollow body through old small amp with the tone dialed way down.. some tremolo and fuckton of spring reverb :thumb:

Oooohhhh that's interesting, I would think I would get the most use out of that with loads of octaves/unison. Something like

That's definitely a very interesting idea. Now I think I need to set up my one beater in NST and my other beater in anti-Nashville...

Fun fact, this faux-NST has temporarily relieved my eastwood tenor/mandocello GAS lol

Also, the other day, I picked up my Jaguar for the first time since getting the Tenor and Mandocello and it felt huge! It was a weird feeling

strange! my jaguar is the guitar I pick up to feel small (and it's what I set up in this tuning). I'd still like a tenor...

Yeah, both the tenor and mandocello are bigger than I was expecting and feel very comfortable in my hands, but their necks are still a lot smaller than a normal guitar.

I’ve been on a DADGAD and standard kick for my new project, or piano most of the time, but I play Violin so NST makes a lot of sense to me. I want to be Warren Ellis so I desperately want a little Tenor thing but pedals first. Then maybe an Otis Amp. Then a Viola...

Fuck Dublin.
I play.
