Let's Bullshit

Post by LowWoods »

Well, there hasnt been too much posting this week on the forums and I'm tipsy and unemployed so here's a thread to shoot the shit!

I've been conceptualizing my album and writing/recording like crazy! I quit smoking pot several months ago and saw a bottle of red wine in my kitchen so I busted it out (felt like an altered state besides being caffeinated) and wrote some quite amusing lyrics for a song called "Coffee Shop Girl"! I had already recorded the guitars (Hyperion, my baby), bass, and drums and had been waiting until I felt like writing/recording the vocals. The red wine helped it flow out instead of giving me a headache like it used to when I was stoned (not that there is anything wrong with that/I'm in a police state so I'd better chill before they snatch my freedom, yo)! Like I told Devi, the vocals came out like a cajun Zach De La Rocha, if you can imagine that!

But it's kinda funny, being that I'm the only person in the project I have to be sober and alert to mix, record guitar, bass and drums and apparently it's beneficial to be a little tipsy to write/record vocals and bomb forums (well I bomb these forums all the time regardless)! I'm learning the art of splitting myself into a bass player, guitar player, drummer, and vocalist! Its weird, it's like I have to refine 4 different personalities within myself. I'm kinda crazy (good crazy) anyway so I'm not too surprised about the task! I can't wait to get the formula cookin' and have a finished album of upbeat, pop/punky songs with fun lyrics (my formula)! Anyway, this was something to read so bullshit me back, I dare you!

And anybody who wants to hear any kind of music is entitled to hear that music because it's good for you – it makes you feel good. If you like it, go for it. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean anything – it's a matter of personal taste."

You have to be tipsy to relate to all the different stages of intoxication.
Since you are only one person, I mean. Maybe your drummer is a drunk and your bassist hates that so he's dead sober and you are stuck in the middle with a slight tipsiness.

Now you have discovered the magic of red wine. What will amaze you now is the different amount and type of lyricalness from different wines. Go try them all, I am your conscience. And benches is a good place to drink your wine so you can practice your singing for people.

Nice perspective, moon! :wow what a fantastic idea you have there:

I'm only fond of cabernet and shiraz! White whine is icky and so is merlot!

When I wrote that last night I was pretty loaded, drunk sounds so harsh so I chose the word tipsy, cause you could probably tip me over, lol!

I'm glad my singer self was able to write and record so easily! I mean, I sat in front of the notebook and after the song played 5 times, it was written and I was laughing out loud at the lyrics. The lyrics have to make me laugh or I can't use them! This is verse one (which is also verse three), verse two and the chorus in between!

Coffee Shop Girl

Need you to get me started
On my work for today
And maybe when were finished
We can go out and play
I only say this to myself
I've never seen you before
But when you take it off the shelf
I really don't want to leave

Coffee shop girl
Cinnamon swirl
Coffee shop girl
You rock my world

It's alright if you want to
Give me extra sugar
I don't mind waiting
I love your hair
She asks me where did I get my tattoos
I said this place in New Orleans
I struggle to explain
She says that she was only asking

Since I was on such a roll I decided to record some guitar tracks. The drunken engineer sucked, and following the cords around to properly record seemed like brain surgery, so he might have to come in early or something!
