Looking to try some Basic Audio pedals

Anyone have any they'd let me borrow? Been into John's stuff for years, yet haven't grabbed anything

There are a few that stand out (wildcat, fuzz mutant, ef zee won es, low volt, etc), but I'd be interested in just about any of them.

Even the ones he doesn't get amazing sounding on the first try he keeps workin' on the circuit until it sounds great.

Some of my faves: Fuzz Mutant (natch), Dirt Halo (super tricked out & based on the ESR Graphic Fuzz), Wildcat, Spooky Tooth (I dig it cranked), Zippy, The Dot (hybrid FuzzRite-style), Bye-Bias (silicon), Throbby (really nice tremolo), Scram (based on the Ampeg Scrambler), EF ZEE WON (FZ-1), EF ZEE WON ES (FZ-1S)... there're just so many good ones.

Interested in tryin': Bass Pep Fuzz, TRING (tremolo/ring mod), DUPLEX (Roland Double Beat-based, actually tried it & know I want one), Low Volt … probably a lot more…

The Orpheum was really nice & versatile. Good fuzz.

NONTS (Buzzaround), Foxton (fOXX Tone Machine), Super Fuzz and all the Tone Bender-ish fuzzes are really solid too.

Dandolin's a big fan. I expect we'll be hearing from him as well.

I must admit I would to try some as well:
Fuzz Mutant, Super fuzz , Kay Fuzz, Pirk.
Nonts and Duplex sound also sick on the demos I?ve heard.

I did try an Orpheum once, really a nice one, but not my piece of cake.

It has been a while since I checked out basic audio, and I must say that muff with a mids-knob and a switch for triangle/rams head looks miiighty interesting.

Also, it appears that dirt halo pedal is discontinued, which is a shame because damn that sounds like a dope peddle

I had that one but sold it to a friend. Guess I'm just not that into muffs, though it sounded great in any situation, particularly on bass. My friend says he can't tell the difference between the tri/ram settings, and I agree it is very subtle.
Mid control as well. Really it has no extreme sounds, just overall well dialed-in to not ever sound 'bad'.

Also owned a Futureman for a long time that the same guy bought. Again a great pedal just superfluous to my setup, though it has a more extreme range of settings which can be very useful.

This friend also now has a Pale Rider. That one is pretty wild volume- and gain-wise but a cool primitive '60s-style noise fuzz.

David Torn is the best fuzz salesman on the planet when BA gets him to do the demo tracks, I'm going to get a couple from them soon. A Superfuzz style and something.

Don't think the Dirt Halo is discontinued. Just think John hasn't put it on his site. He'd probably build one if asked.

I figured you'd have a bunch! Read a HC thread maybe, a while back that you were in, discussing them. There's a Duplex on ebay right now for about $140. Maybe one of us should grab it. A double beat based pedal has been on my want to make list for a while, so I definitely be interested in his take.

The Bye-Bias and Ez Zee Won Es have my attention as well. There really are so many, holy shit

I know him personally, and have meet him few times here in Zurich, when he came over to play together wth Sonar.
He's a really super cool dude! On one occasion he lend me one his fuzz pedals to try out during sound check.

The only problem I have with most Basic Audio demo it's that these are too Torn-ish guitar stile oriented. I love how David plays, but I find a bit reductive to display these pedals in only that particular context: I wanna hear the bloody hell of doom in a fuzz demo!
