Intermodulation requires another frequency or signal, so you'll find it in stereo stuff where the channels can cross pollinate each other, RF transmitters where multiple signals are referenced to a single frequency, and oscillating fuzzes/etc.

Too many pedals?

Crossover distortion is interesting in that it can happen on either the amplitude or time tangent.

The frequency tripler on the Fuzzhugger Magic Meter does some good stuff.

After listening to some demos of the Fuzzrocious Croak, it seems to me that's pretty close to the Prunes & Custard. Based on on having recently built a clone of that (not yet boxed), otherwise I have no experience with other such circuits.

One of my favorites is an old Spencer Amps Subzombie. There are some super heavy sounds in it but also some weird blooming squelches.
The website is long-dead but the Wayback Machine has an archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20160326163 ... /subz.html

I've never played or seen a schematic of the P&C. Fuzz and filters are fun though!

Fair play, I mean I haven't tried either in person. Your Croak seems more versatile and wild though, at least compared to the one I built.
