Moog guitar

Post by hudpucker »

Anyone have one? I'm jonesin' HARD, HARD, HARD for one right now. My wallet doesn't agree though. Anyone have a persuasive argument pro or con?

If I had one...oh boy boy.

Mike Einziger had a piece performed with 15 Moog guitars I believe...I've yet to find it, but I'm curious.

If I remeber correctly some folks complained that the Moog guitar does not sound good when used as an ordinary guitar.

But I'm sure that creative musicians will find a way to make wonderful music with it.

I really don't know if it actually does sound a bit "sterile" clean or if that's just the standard line parroted by some uncreative bl00z and classic rock types who are afraid of anything post-1970.

Some people overhype new stuff while others are just haters of anything they don't or can't see a use for....

Guess I'll have to make a drive and check one out.

Yes, they are expensive but the sustain modes are so cool. We're offering $300 off this week on the Moog E1.

As for using as a regular guitar, there are other, better choices when looking for an electric. The Moog E1 is only worth the price when taking all the cool features into account. Sustain, mute, filters, expression pedal.

Use coupon code MOOG300.

+1

I've never liked the sound of that infinite sustain, I like mine dirty and inconsistent.

I don't really care if the guitar doesn't sound good on it's own. Definitely a different approach to guitar so I don't imagine much time would be spent in the standard guitar mode. Could you imagine the infinite sustain on with a Spring Chicken dime'd and the guitar in open tuning. The drones, oh the drones!
