Fave CV Controllable Pedals? (And using them in weird ways)

Post by ancientbones »

So I watched this Hainbach video ( on using a Moogerfooger phaser to make a weird little drum synth and it’s inspired me to explore this since I recently acquired a Korg SQ-1.

I’ve got one pedal with an expression input but I’m just curious about what else is out there that could be interesting combining with the SQ-1. I know Chase Bliss pedals usually have CV but what are some others I may not know about? Anyone else out there doing stuff like this?

I've been wanting to make one of those simon the magpie Solar CV expression pedals that works with modular and pedals with expression inputs.

Dwarfcraft had at least a couple of CV friendly pedals - Twin Stags, Happiness, made some others? Some of the Red Panda stuff accepts CV within a certain range - and I'm sure there's other pedals that fall within the same category. Some of the Copilot stuff?

i think most ehx stuff is supposed to accept cv up the expression hole. most expression interfaces sends 5v and has a return from the pot that works as a +5v cv input. Though i guess alot of pedals just plug into an existing potentiometer which would not be smart to cv

I guess if you have alot of midi pedals you could use that befaco module that converts cv to midi for modularization of regular synths. There is potential for alot of powerful things with that setup

I have a Dreadbox Komorebi, Crazy Tube Circuits Stoned Hz, and WMD Protostar that all have CV on 3.5mm jacks for easy cross-patching with modular gear.

Adventure Audio Again and Outer Rings (if you can find one) also do.

Try sending audio-rate signals to parameters that are normally controlled with LFOs for weird textural stuff, or try modulating LFOs with other LFOs for complex or pseudo-random motion.

probably not all that helpful, but I appreciate how this guy uses CV to hook up the Afterneath v3 with a sequencer
