Pedal Crush ILF Tour

Post by MrNovember »

I received my copy of Pedal Crush by Kim Bjorn a few days ago. Unfortunately, it was damaged in shipping. Fortunately, they're sending me a new one and said I could keep the damaged one.

Since the damaged one is still in good enough condition to read and I don't need two, I figured some of you might want to have a read.

So, if there's any interest, I'm thinking of putting together a bit of a tourbox with this book!

Also, I highly encourage adding your own notes or whatever else to it as well (as long as it's not going to interfere with anyone else's enjoyment)

This is such a great idea! I just received my copy today and I think they did a great job with it. I think a lot of people around here will also enjoy it. Definitely recommend getting in on this tourbox!

Glad there's some interest!

So far we have echorec up first and coldangelmidnight up second.

I'll arange shipment to echorec. Then they can send on to the next person when they're done. Any opinions on timeline for each person? Since it's a book, I'm thinking about a month or two? Any issues with that or other suggestions?

I've had the book for a bit and reading it is a curious experience. Sometimes I look around for prices because it feels like reading a catalog. Sometimes I think I can hear Knobs Scott's voice. (But then I realize I'm actually doing Roman Mars' voice in my head...)

I don't think there's any new information for members of the forum but it's weirdly legitimizing for outsider hobby.

It's sort of uncomfortable how people like Josh Scott and Simon the Magpie and Ikegami Yoshihiro are all given equal attention and there's no examination of whatever cultural baggage they may carry.

I grabbed my own copy and had a good time reading it. I've built some kits, never designed a pedal. Played with them for years. Thought I knew enough about pedals, but actually learned quite a bit. It does feel weirdly cataloguey, but there are enough indie builders featured that it's not so corporate. Don't get it to read about your favourite pedals. It's not that deep. I found more interest in the sections about pedals I don't use. It fills the gaps in your knowledge and on your pedalboard. I'ts like a pedal encyclopedia with builder & artist spotlights.

Sorry, I've still got it.
I can send it along. It will surely make for fine quarantine reading.

I've been pretty not involved with the whole process to tell you the truth. Best to just send a PM directly
