Are you uploading your own IRs into the Digit or are those the ones factory installed?shikawkee wrote:Been on a reverb tear again. Still my favorites are the Poly Digit and GFI Spectral Tempus.
Two less expensive alternatives I really dig are the Alexander Sky 5000 and the OBNE Dark Star V.2
However, I REALLY love my Zoom MS-70CDR once you spend a lot of time tweaking the algo's. Yeah it can be a bit cold, sort of (clean is probably a more accurate term) but where else can you have two reverbs and two delays and EQ in one patch?
Yeah, the 500ma is a bummer but unavoidable I think. You can always EQ and add dirt to be less clean/cold. It's the best deal in audio by far.

I helped create most of the presets that ship with the Digit. Loki stayed at my house for a week before last summer NAMM and we did like 25 or more?manymanyhaha wrote:Are you uploading your own IRs into the Digit or are those the ones factory installed?shikawkee wrote:Been on a reverb tear again. So yeah, so far I'm using the ones in the unit. My faves are dark plate (I have a preset on there with EQ you can use), the student union stairwell (didn't need EQ and very realistic, natural sound), and the AKG spring (again, I did a few presets with it) but all of them sound great to me. I may upload some new ones myself eventually but haven't felt the need so far.

Re: What's your favorite reverb pedal?
I remember reading that at the time. So far, I've only played around with one of the EMT plates which sounded really great. Looking forward to trying the rest, thanks for those suggestions of ones to start with. Have you messed with Quad IRs? It's on my list of things to research.shikawkee wrote:I helped create most of the presets that ship with the Digit. I have not messed with Quad IR's. I may at some point. Been pretty busy trying to get the PCM42 pedal moving during the lockdown. Keep in mind the limit for IR's in the Digit are 6 seconds I think if I remember correctly.manymanyhaha wrote:I remember reading that at the time. Yes, the 500mA is the thing that bugs me the most. That, and the knobs/menu diving. I have created a lot of patches for it, but I just wanted something to set up easily on the fly.shikawkee wrote:Been on a reverb tear again. Still my favorites are the Poly Digit and GFI Spectral Tempus.

We'll see, probably I have to get a second power supply anyway, so the power draw could not be a problem anymore.

I use the apps (Zoom and ToneLib) for the menu diving. It would drive me mad if I had to use the pedal itself for all that.Dowi wrote:Yes, the 500mA is the thing that bugs me the most. Yeah I only use those, I could never create those complex chains on the pedal itselfshikawkee wrote:I use the apps (Zoom and ToneLib) for the menu diving. Re: What's your favorite reverb pedal?
I use the Ring Mod on the Bitquest running at 18V for a lil bit of freak mod in my verb, it's the spooky button on my board.
I've never really bonded with another reverb, I'm playing root + octave double stops on bass so a lot of other stuff just sounded dull/hasn't gelled.

Re: What's your favorite reverb pedal?
ring mod verb on bitquest rules, it sounds like a cheap cyberpunk soundrack. What difference does 18v do for bitquest? isnt it just affecting the mixing part

Re: What's your favorite reverb pedal?
I've just had it that way because of how the outlets worked out on my Cioks power supply, I think Imma add one or two more 9V pedals and switch it to the 15V outlet though.qersty wrote:ring mod verb on bitquest rules, it sounds like a cheap cyberpunk soundrack. My understanding was more Volts = more headroom, which I figure I need cos my BQ comes after my octave down, Fab Tone and Muff. What do you mean by "mixing part," exactly?

Re: What's your favorite reverb pedal?
I hadn't used the EQD Ghost Echo for a long while but pulled it out of the box the other day and had forgotten how great it sounds. The flexibility of the more advanced/programmable/fully featured digital delays is great, but I think my dumb ape brain really appreciates having a box that does one thing and does it well.

Yeah I loved the Ghost Echo when I had one. Just always sounded good. I've considered picking up another before...

The Ghost Echo sounds great after dirt, IMO. I’ve never tried putting it anywhere else.
