Boss PH-2 mods?

Post by the_necropolitan »

Hi all,
I just bought a Boss PH-2 phaser pedal on a whim, and while it's OK, it can be a lot better of course. Basically, I want to thicken it up a bunch. I saw a couple mods on some blog when I did a Google search, but I figured I'd run it by y'all and see if there are any suggestions on how to improve the effect. Keep in mind, I'm a n00b when it comes to modding, so if you could respond with like "replace (insert cap or resistor number here) with (insert value here)" or very simple electronics language, that would rule! Thanks.

I know of this spanish pedal builder that makes a good mod, just look up boss ph-2 on youtube and it's gonna be in the results, and in spanish. I'm on my phone right now so I can't get the link but I will edit this post with it when I get back home.

No wait it was French, here's the youtube video:

And the mod page: http://www.msmworkshop.fr/ph2sinus.html

Translation of what it says:

"Improved background for the PH-2!
And yes, the breath has disappeared.
The electronics has been optimized and improved transparency, now on your favorite high fidelity phaser."

I guess they mean the airiness of the phaser is gone, it has better components, can get more transparent, and is overall more hi-fi.

Hope I helped!
