Yeah that mid-fi is nice.

The Vein-Tap Dark Waves v3 tremolo has sixteen waveforms including a two random options, random levels and random slopes. That slopes option has me

So....this is a bit weird.

That pedal and the Sentimental Bob Tacana pedal are basically the exact same pedal, with the exception that the Sentimental Bob pedal has a dedicated volume knob and a switch to toggle between the waveform banks.

I thought it was odd that they both had a waveform called "Lumps", but looking at the sixteen waveforms, they're all exactly the same, and both pedals have that "shape" or "centre shift" control.

The Skitter has "random (levels), random (slopes)" too. :idk:

Yeah, the Skitter is a rad pedal. It's not that they both have random settings, it's that they have the exact same 16 waveforms.

With the Sentimental Bob and the Dark Waves, the waves and the wave "legend" are just exactly the same, the top pic I posted is from the Dark Waves website linked above and the pic is of the Sentimental Bob pedal. You don't often see that unless they're mass produced pedals that are then branded differently.

I just asked the Sentimental Bob dude straight up on IG and he explained that they're built off the same LFO chip.

That makes sense. It's crazy that they both used the same graphic without modifying anything.

The Sentimental Bob pedal is cool because it has a Hold mode activated with that "Bypass" switch, so the tremolo is only active when the switch is held down.

Yeah, it's all the Electric Druid TAPLFO and they're using his image.

I'm really glad he added random slopes to the circuit because I find the S&H style random kind of annoying.

Drolo twin peaks uses that chip too. It is pretty useful for designs since you dont have to program a PIC for lots of waveforms+tt so it is perfectly normal lots of pedals have the same waveset. It is just like the loads of benton reverbs. The tremolo circuits dont have to be the same either just cause the lfo is

come to think of it, the moog ring mod is likely capable of seemingly random tremolo sounds. possibly even something you can route by adding 1 patch cable on the CV parts

It definitely does random trem. There’s a sweet spot with the frequency and rate knobs where it skips around a medium trem speed.
