Worst Pedal Names?

I kinda feel like EQD has been coming up with the most vanilla names recently too. Westwood, Plumes, Swiss things.

Their older stuff has great names: dispatch master, bit commander, organizer, tentacle, rainbow machine etc

When you lay it out like that, I start to realize something. Not many pedals have good names, like at all. LOL! Or they are some kind of nonsense that has nothing to do with the pedal. Some of them sound cool as shit though. Here's what I have just laying on the floor next to my desk.

Empress Echosystem (yea I get it, it's a delay LAME)

Montreal Assembly CT5 (jack is right here, I can't count to at least 6) I do like this name because I have no fucking clue what it means but it actually sounds good with the pedal.

Industrialectric Incinerator...this is a favorite of mine. Pedal and name. BURN MOTHERFUCKER BURN!!!!

ADD and MAE Dark Grime Deluxe (I like it, but I feel like grime is a gross word and that by playing it I am the grime. So obviously that's why it's right here, so I can play it.)

EQD Life Pedal...sigh. Ok. So, I fucking LOVE this pedal so much that I bought a clone and testing Dino's clone and am also waiting on V2 to come. What I don't love is the name. Life Pedal instead of Life Metal... I would have almost preferred if Sunn 0))) would have just let them use their name. SUN O)))) That's it. Name is aight, but it's not creative at all.

Procro Rat. Never understood this name and have always thought it was dumb as hell. I've heard and been around those rats and they don't sound like this damn pedal. SO, why?


I have a few filing cabinets full of pedals and I guarantee 90% of them have really dumb names.

One pedal name that bugs me personally is the caroline shigeharu, but that's partly just because the japanese on the front doesn't even spell out the name lol

Westwood and plumes are both very vanilla pedals, especially compared to their way cooler old stuff, so maybe they do a good job of naming appropriately haha

I remember when I was a young teen I wanted a big muff and a super hard one because I saw the pros using them... I literally had no idea what they meant and threw my parents for a bit of a loop haha

I remember being in a guitar center in my teens and this guy obsessed with Frank Gamble was talking to me about getting some sound or something and I said just get a big muff [this was when they were still making the green ones and you could get one new for $75.00] and he says "I don't know man if I could use something called that To be honest I never thought of the name until then

I have since learned that Westwood is the name of the street where EQD was founded, but every time I see it, I still think either UCLA or the Westwood One Radio Network (which hosted the Dr. Demento show when I was a kid).
