Re: 2019: YOUR YEAR IN GEAR
In: Proco Rat, Mantic Hivemind, 2 DOD Death Metals and a Digitech Death Metal. And a new mixer and some contact mics. Oh and I bought a used FM4 which I love and got a Pigtronix Ringmaster in a trade that I’m still deciding if I “need”.
Out: sold a ton of pedals. Two filters, a couple muff variants, some other stuff I’m forgetting. And my Ampeg 810. My old mixer got sold.
Gave up my monthly rehearsal space, quit my band, moved all my junk into my creepy noise dungeon. No new amps and I remain a “one bass” person since I like my 6 string enough to negate any serious GAS for new instruments.

Re: 2019: YOUR YEAR IN GEAR
2019 saw a couple things come in but then i moved across the country so a LOT went out!
IN:
Sterling 5 string Stingray
Chicago Stompworks Green Ringer (this pedal has turned out to be a keeper for life)
DigiTech Drop
OUT:
Epiphone 7 string Les Paul
Peavey Studio Pro 40
Peavey Decade
Fender Frontman 25r
Boss DD6 (kinda regret that)
Danelectro Fabtone
DMB Lunar Echo
MXR Phase 90
DigiTech Drop
Behringer PN2 clone
Harmonic Jerkulator clone
Danelectro PB & J rehoused
So many pedal parts, empty enclosures, broken project tape machines, amp carcasses
I left my V Drums in boxes at my parents house so hopefully when we get settled they can be mailed to me.
2020 I want to pick up a tuner pedal, some kind of stereo modulation, maybe a wah, and a 4x12 cabinet if I get a band going.

IN: 2x powered full range monitors
OUT: 2x JC-120 amps.
I live in the dystopian future of amp modelling as a live solution. get funny looks but looper playback is 100% audible , my tone is just as good at home as on stage.

Re: 2019: YOUR YEAR IN GEAR
Another “raj” year...plenty of shit in and out. And most of it doesn’t matter.
BUT
Some crucial info was learned.
I did a MJT Tele build this year and I feel so connected to that damn thing—I just love it. When it first arrived the neck was a little larger than initially expected,, but once I adjusted I just loved it more and more.
Some more experimentation w guitars has led me to understand I am definitely a traditional single coil person. I do not like P90s nor Humbuckers. I don’t like how they respond to the fuzz pedals I like. So...single coils from here on out.
I’ve had a tweed version of the Blues Jr for a while...surely I should try the next tier up? Tried a couple things around the $1000 range, nah, Blues Jr sounded better than all of them to me. Even a hand wired take on a blackface champ with a 12” speaker...wild. I found this dude who was selling a re-cabbed Blues Jr (bigger, pine, beautiful) along w some upgrades under the hood for stupid cheap so I hopped on that ...just the perfect damn amp for me.
I got this LP JR Tribute which is a very nice guitar, but I can’t get along w the P90...so I’m trading it for a Strat.
Tele, Strat, Blues Jr on steroids—Perfect.
Pedals? I’m absolutely in love w fuzz faces right now...all else is a shit show. #raj
Good year all around.

Re: 2019: YOUR YEAR IN GEAR
I bought my dream guitar, a 77 Ibanez artist 2619. Then I finished building my dream cabs. Then I played one show with the new shit and my band broke up and I’ve hardly looked at my gear since then. Starting to play a little more recently though. Will start something else. God damn I do love what I got though. Only really planning to buy maybe a dirt pedal or two and *maybe* a chorus or some other modulation in 2020.

Re: 2019: YOUR YEAR IN GEAR
I think 2019 was a year for me of GAS, I wanted so much stuff and bought a lot and kept quite possibly none of it. Everything I still have I am pretty sure I had prior to 2019, minus a few things that I will be getting rid of and just haven't yet. Besides 2019 being a year where I tried out a bunch of cool pedals that I don't need and won't probably use, it ushered me into 2020 being a year where I finally feel like I know what I want out of my setup and am finally streamlining what I need to do what I want and hopefully not GAS further...hopefully. I hope 2020 will bring less time researching pedals and more time playing guitar. I did buy a Fender Rhodes recently which I kind of regret as I totally forgot how heavy those f#%king things are and now I wish I had just bought a Nord Electro. So I may have rememdy that. I am in the process of building two new guitars. A road worn partscaster tele and a les paul jr with tele configuriation like a Fano. Both of those have been in progress since late 2019 but shall be done soon. My pedalboard will hopefully also be finished this year despite the fact that I am nowhere even close to deciding on what I want to use as the actual pedal board, way too many choices, definitely want something with a case though. I am hopeful that the few things I will buy this year will all be things I find useful and I also hope I can talk myself out of buying anything that isn't already planned, wish me luck, lol!

Re: 2019: YOUR YEAR IN GEAR
Last year was a crazy. I Bought/Sold/Traded a lot, basically I went very hard on new pedals and other musical gadgets. I'm pretty happy with everything right now so I hope to dial it back quite a bit. Only really eyeing those Pladask releases and hopefully that's it.

I did that the last few years but I didn't last year. I just looked on my Instagram account and pedal drawer and thought about it for a few days. I usually post pics of new pedals as they come and go.tremolo3 wrote:^ You must have a spreadsheet document for all this, right?
