Got a once in a lifetime kind of coworker now who is super deep into old school heavy metal, favorite band is Manowar kind of level, as well as lots of thrash, black and death. It's cool, never had this level of musical discourse with a coworker before. I've turned him on to stuff like Hypocrisy, Pestilence, Helloween, Devin Townsend, Nile, Absu, Angelcorpse, Mithras and lots more.

Got caught up on all the recent new Pestilence, fuckin' awesome.
The Crown - Deathrace King: Is this considered metalcore or something? I don't care, I love the whole album, it is just a metal classic if nothing else.
I also love Bal-Sagoth and will always have space for their discography. I like plenty of hybrid black metal mutated/fringe kind of stuff, for me it brings black metal home in a way, to the larger metal family.
Revisiting some old stuff, like Thorns/Emperor, Yyrkoon, Summoning, Cirith Gorgor, Aborym, and Mephistopheles, this is another sort of unclassified classic:
