I'm looking for recommendations on how to set up two stereo pedals (or more) in my effects chain so that I can use both pedals to go out to the same two amps. I already have an ABY box but I'm thinking I might need to invest in a patch bay.
My preferred effects chain would go something like this: Guitar -> DI Box -> Boss NS-2 (dirt and fuzz pedals in the loop) -> (mono output delay/reverb/modulation pedals here) -> (then here is where it gets wonky) probably ABY box or Y splitter box -> SMMWH on one side of the split -> EHX Stereo Pulsar on the other side of the split -> then what do I put here to combine the signals from both the SMMWH and the Stereo Pulsar, but still keep them in stereo and then those signals would go out to two amps (because at this point I would have basically four cables that need to go into only two amp inputs).
Any help or brainstorming ideas would be fantastic! I'm hoping some of you on here use two amp set-ups with multiple stereo pedals.

wait, I think I get what you're saying. so you want (for example) the left output of the trem and the left output of the delay to be combined and go to one amp, and the right outputs of both to be combined and go to the other amp? You could do that with two Boss LS-2's ... that would be the easiest way I can think of. Just have them both on A+B mix mode, and the outputs going into the input and one of the return jacks on each LS-2, and then out to the amps. Get what I mean?
I'm trying to follow you. My first thought is to not split to the delay and pulse, simply run the pulse into the delay via the stereo outs of the pulse and the stereo ins of the delay.

Yeah I could go into the SMMWH for example and then take one of the stereo outs from that and go into the pulsar, but then I would have a stereo out from the SMMWH bypassing the pulsar going directly into the amp. It's like I want all four cables from my original description to be merged into two outputs. So plug in four cables and only have two coming out. Does that make better sense?!

Yep, that is correct in what I am saying. So on the LS-2 I would have two outs from the SMMWH and one of those outs would go into the input of one LS-2 and where would the other output from the SMMWH go... into the other LS-2 right. And then other stereo pedals could be put into the send/return loops... am I thinking that through right or not?! Seems like there would be a better solution but I might have to do that.

Take one output from the smmwh and put it into the input of LS-2 #1, and put the other output into the input of LS-2 #2. Then take one output from the pulsar and put it into "return A" on LS-2 #1, and put the other output into "return A" on LS-2 #2. You don't even need to plug anything into the "send" jacks. Put both LS-2s on "A + B Mix" mode, and then the output from each LS-2 goes out to its own amp. Now each LS-2 can mix between trem and delay for each amp. Tons of bassists on Talkbass use LS-2s as blenders like this. It works like a charm. Yeah, its not an elegant solution, but it works great, and you also get to control the volume level for each of the 4 outputs from your stereo pedals.
I'm gonna recommend against passive blending. You get volume drops and weird phase cancellation issues when doing passive blending.

Thanks for elaborating on this. Sounds like exactly what I want plus it offers some flexibility for future growth. I was hoping for a solution under $160 but this sounds like a good investment. Thanks again!
it will likely be much cheaper and has more channels if you want to throw something else on that amp later.
With the LS-2 you would already be at the max number of stereo effects with your setup(or at least in the way im interpreting the setup). Although the LS-2 has some additional routing features, if your just using it to mix, IMHO an actual mixer woudl be a better investment.

Yeah, I want to keep things as simple as possible with room for future growth and a mixer or two seems like the more economical route but I'm a bit worried about what bigchief mentioned volume drops and phase cancellation.
This has been a great sounding board and I thank all of you for taking the time to reply. I'll weigh my options and see what else is out there.

A mixer would work fine, as long as its an active mixer (usually anything powered will be active). The other issues are mainly due to passive mixing (like a y-cable or an A/B/C box or something like that)
