This seems silly to post here, as my music listening is mostly local. This list is also only of stuff that I have in a physical format, so it skews more towards the start of the decade (much more likely to get the bandcamp download in the past couple-three years or so.) Roughly in chronological order.

It's not silly. Not that I'm trying to give a homework assignment but perhaps mention why you like certain acts. You never know who you may turn onto stuff!
Thanks for posting that list though!

Hm, so much there, so many friends + memories. I let my eye drift over and pick up a few things...

First, maybe you'll like these: I seem to recall you posting a buncha Grouper a l'il while back, so here's a couple things in the same sorta sonic space:

FWIW, the new Anamai album is also probably best-of-decade worthy: https://anamaimusic.bandcamp.com/album/ ... by-htra009
Low-down, scuzzy rock'n'roll. Surinam were a sort of regrouping of several members of the essential (but largely unknown out of Toronto) Anagram. Surinam did two pretty great album albums, plus Anagram's swansong Majewski came out in Oct. 2010, so just inside the cutoff for decade's best: https://anagram.bandcamp.com/album/majewski
NSFW: show

Sexy Merlin put out Toronto's best Arthur Russell disco worship disc of the decade
NSFW: show

Chris Cummings, formerly known as Mantler, now recording as Marker Starling, put out several albums of sophisticated tuxedo-clad Wurlizer-powered pop. Probably offered up the decade's best inspired-by-a-Casavetes-flick song of the decade.
NSFW: show

Jennifer Castle is simply one of the best songwriters of her generation, effortless wisdom not constrained by folk forms. So many great lyrics that pop into my mind all the time.

Oh goodness thank you! I will listen to all these, at some point! See what I mean! You can sell (bad verb choice) people on descriptions. You got me on "Probably offered up the decade's best inspired-by-a-Casavetes-flick song of the decade."

Cheers m8!

Adding Chaos Echoes “Transient” DLP to the list. Perhaps the most slept on French band aside from Aluk Todolo? I like all their material but Transient is thee album.

They’re one of the most underrated (or misunderstood) NWN bands - they even have the die hard version still available. I *may* have bought both versions because I like both covers. That was a 10lb package!

I just got the new double CD in the mail yesterday. The first disc is a full soundboard live set and might be the best thing they’ve done. It sounds absolutely epic. I’m hoping that NWN does a vinyl version.

i saw this tour and, people might derisively call ol' Jeff "muzak", but what i saw was a guitar hardwired to the heart and mind of the man. such a vocal and expressive player, but not in a virtuosic and technical way, in a PRIMAL sense.

Jeff Beck is my one and only guitar hero. There are a few more that I like, but Jeff Beck is right there on the top.
