I'm getting a Lone Wolf and Cub vibe from it, but over the two episodes, it doesn't really seem like the story has progressed much so I'm kinda hesitant to recommend it past the visuals.
The TL;DW I'd give for the Mandalorian is, "Jon Favreau probably wanted to make a spaghetti western but Disney said he had to make a Star Wars show, so he made a space western because fuck it, it's cool."

I need to finish preacher at some point, but I was really disappointed with how "off story" they went.

Which is why I'm not really excited for more "The Boys". That was one of my favorite comics ever. And they've basically eviscerated everything that made it a satire/commentary on regular super hero comics.

I was planning to watch this anyway, but your summary sold it to me. Gonna start it this weekend.

Side note, i'm finally catching up with the current season of Peaky Blinders, it's awesome so far (currently watched the first 3 episodes).

I saw an article a couple of seasons back where Ennis explained rewriting for TV, basically ditches the old script to avoid medium translation issues, and that formula nullifies arguments about sticking to whatever. It was explained better than that, well enough for me to feel better about it once I saw it in his words I guess. Since then I just enjoy GarthTV as just that. I was most satisfied with Cassidy throughout the show, they covered all of his best story parts at least.

The Boys is huge now, serious amazon business. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/ ... r-on-imdb/

I understand having to edit out certain aspects either due to there being no way to translate to another medium or just being approved to show it on another medium (I'm leaning towards the latter on Ennis material)... And that's fine I guess. They still kept the core of Preacher intact (from what I remember). The Boys though.... Why Hughie hates supes and part of Butcher's past is about the only thing they kept. But they got rid of the rest of the elements that made it unique instead of this just weird situation they've developed now.

Oh man, I still need to watch the last season of Preacher. Have really enjoyed that show through the last few years.

Finished “Living with Yourself” on Netflix. Liked it. Kind of a mumblecore indie dramedy stretched out to a series.

Yeah it was ok, interesting premise and the two leads were good. Connected with me a lot more in the second half but overall I agree it could probably have been shorter. It is nice to watch something that's a self contained story for once and not the beginning of a long series.

I think they wrapped it up, it was planned as the last season. Which I really appreciate, seeing all these other shows going on for way too long. I'm not going to start watching a show when I see that there's eight seasons to plow through.

Still need to watch the last season of Legion as well!

My bad, I was thinking 7 deadly sins where "season 2" was 4 episodes and I was bummed out because the first season was a decent chunk.

I do like Castlevania and wasn't being negative about the content... I just like having lots of episodes to binge! Especially when it's good.
