This has to be a unanimously like ambient work right? Remembered William Baskinski "A Shadow In Time" today.

The LUSSURIA tape and the KEVIN DRUMM tape in this set (Various Auras: A Bird's Eye View InTo Machiavellian World Of Secrecy) were definitely among my favorite releases of the decade. It's a shame LUSSURIA has not made anything as great/unique before or after this release. For KEVIN DRUMM fans, this was the famous 'going back to Imperial Distortion era' tape.

For the LUSSURIA tape... I've probably posted about it about 20 times on this site    .

:idk:
Eagle twin - The Unkindness of Crows,
Sunn - Monoliths & Dimensions,
Portal - Vexovoid,
FUZZIER - Square Wave Godhead, Soap Bubbles and Goat Head,
Hille Perl- Elements,
Coldworld - Autumn,
Immortal - All shall fall,

I'd have a better list if this was the shit that you just got into but were oblivious to when it happened and you missed out thread
Edit: list is based on albums's frequency to being added to playlists, road mixes and revisits to the albums.

CONSUMER ELECTRONICS - Estuary English.

Also I feel compelled to say BOY HARSHER is easily one of my top 10 favorite new artists of this decade.

Borkanagar - Up North. Still on the fence with this one but I dig it more than anything Borknagar has put out this decade so it's on there.
Edit:
Moonsorrow - Varjoina kuljemme kuolleiden maassa
Katatonia - The Fall of Hearts
Judas Priest - Firepower
The Night Flight Orchestra - Amber Galactic

I think that's it.
A decade is a long time, and that's only a couple of albums from each year.

If I had to choose the best...
Gorguts - Colored Sands

I also relooked at some lists of metal albums and such from 2010-2012 and realised that a lot of the bands I liked back then released not great albums and that I didn't discover a whole lot of new bands. Man, Spotify was such a fucking saviour for my listening.

I can't rank music.
So this is just stuff I've listened to a lot over the last decade.
I have no idea what I listened to 2010-2013 because I didn't have spotify and I'm not The Librarian, so I can't remember what shit came out then, except for Maiden's Final Frontier, which is not their best post-Bruce-reunion album, though When the Wild Wind Blows is pretty epic.

The bar is: You'd be prepared to argue with D.o.S. for the entire duration of your first pint together.

That's going to be me this upcoming decade tbh. I have no real plans of following music as ferociously as I did in the first half of this decade.

I see. Well that's a low one.

What I mean is that my brain is a bird's nest and I can't remember what I've listened to. I have been listening to music in a progressively more obsessively broad way over recent years i just struggle to place dates and names

Oh

Idles - Brutalism
Ought - More Than Any Other Day AND Sun Coming Down. So good.
Gnod - Dos has already said this but e v e r y t h i n g

Unlike goroth I'm going to treat this thread as an ongoing "oh yeah, AND that"

I feel like this is a hard list to make. Over this last decade I went from being really stoked on new music to completely falling off. I got locked outta my VLV account a few years back and haven't really kept up on new music since. I really only follow the stuff my friends label puts out and stuff Spotify recommends. That being said I do plan to make a list after this thread builds up more and you guys remind me of stuff because I can't remember shit so I don't know what I listened to 2 months ago let alone 5-10 years ago.

No Falls of Rauros from either of you?

But yeah, I am tempted to go back and look at the best of the record threads from days of yore because I'm sure there's at least 50,000 records I'm missing here.

Like all the bong records from '10 onward. Probably Mana Yood Sushai if I had to pick one?
