should i get an M9?

im fairly new to the ILF board so i may have missed much discussion over this pedal already. if so, please forgive me. but i didnt know this thing existed until recently. should i get one? if so, what pedals can i count on ditching? im going to assume i can get rid of my DL4, but what about the magicstomp and digitech whammy? i do use the now cliche reverse reverb/early reflections on the magicstomp, so i know that would be missed.

I'd say get an M9 if you don't have a huge variety of pedals and/or want a decent looper. However, if you already have a good looper as well as a decent range of pedals, I'd say save up for something else.

I've heard it's great for looping though.

me personally i would get an M9 if i could find one fo' cheap (like two hundo or so ???) but i think i'd use it as more of a back-up to the other multi-efx i have.

You're right that it would perfectly replace your DL4 and Whammy, I've never used a magicstomp though, so I can't give any help there.

Looping on it is really easy, and twice (4x if you record at half speed) the length of time on the DL4.

The thing I love most about the M9 is how tweakable it is! With those 2 expression pedals you can take over the world.

I owned an M13, loved all the unique effects, but sold it to downsize to the M9. Haven't bought the M9 yet, but will be really soon. Great stuff! How can you go wrong with the DL4, MM4, DM4, FM4, and verbzilla all in one? I love my analog effects but for a package deal like that, you can't beat it for the money.

I'm in the same boat. It seems like a beast of a unit, and if i planned on getting a DL4 anyways, I might as well spend the extra 100 and get all 4 stompbox modelers in one right? My questions are how easy is it to use, and does it take alot of getting used to

It's just as easy to use as any of the modellers. You only have to get used to using/setting the expression pedals (if you decide to use them, which I would), working with scenes, and harnessing the awesome power it contains. Nothing that some dedicated fooling around won't solve.

I had a M13 once and sold it after getting more analog pedals.
It offers a lot of bang for the buck and would have been useful if I had played in a cover band.
It is also a great sketch out tool to experiment with new effect combinations.

But IMO most of the effects did not even come close to the originals they are modeled after.

I've never missed it so far.
