I also prefer the dub delay - so wicked. It's easy to switch between FX with lightning speed to keep your beat crazed forever.
I almost got one because I saw a guy performing with nothing but an Octatrack and the KP3 and I shit myself

On a more important question though, is that the G2 editor in your avatar?

Great question, No¡ it is a free G2 emulator / expansion called Wren... https://bluehell.electro-music.com/wren/index.php ... it rules super hard. I got into it after selling my G2 and now do not miss my G2. I’ve used it on recordings and it holds up.

Big fan of your work. I thought you were based out of Philly 4 sum reason. Didn't know NYC. If you're the guy I got my S-330 from I'm sorry I haven't copied your disk yet. I'm on time... just on my own time. I'm saying this cause he had two Machine Drum MKII which I know you're a fan of.

Keeping the thread on topic... get a shitty Alesis 3036 for drums. Why? Cause they don't work well and make your drums into alien sounds, instant DAFT PUNK, + you can score one for like $20. I know I suggested envelope stuff earlier in the thread but reiterating with specific examples... Clari(not) [both of the newer ones] + Seppuku Kompact Kassette (UC has replicated this on his source audio delay though... I don't know the name and I'm not looking it up).
"SWIPE LEFT ASSHOLE!" -retinal orbita
"Whatever ASSHOLE here’s my pedal that makes humpback whale noises and also it has a built in sequencer so stick it in your craw! -retinal orbita
"Patty Mullen takes me from a ball peen to a sledge" -The Great Velvet Hammer
"...at this exact moment Divine has learned of your jealous scheme from the local town gossip. She also has your address, ASS HOLE!" -Narrator (Mr. J) PINK FLAMINGOS

Aw, thank you for listening; it means a lot.

I'm based out of North Carolina right now but in January, I will be based out of central Washington state. Any central Washington state people reading this? If so, hit me up and we will play drum machines together.

I want the Alesis 3036 now even though I am a dullard and do not understand how compression works / wrecks / funs / zaps / does.

Get one of those boss bass synth pedals and run it with dirt on, its super funky. I also like running really short delays for funky comb filter sounds

I was going to post some shit in a new thread about gear goals and reference the below. This seems like a better space though. Has anyone seen Gieskes' (the Dutch Video Synth Ubermensch)? circuit bent TR-707? If you follow the link, he was kind enough (cause that's what Dutch people do... they're amazingly friendly) to post the bend points.

Drumbrute sucks without pedals. Love it with bitcrushers, Plasma pedal is pretty great. Need to give it a workout with the #Rip soon. Done a lot of drum machine tracks into delay pedals or tape echo units. Pretty rad. Kinda just want to get a better drum machine though that can stand on it's own too.

Whoa. Gieskes is a genius though I had not seen this 707 bend.

I've had a bent HR-16B for many years and I must admit I hardly ever use it any more! I do not use it often because the bends all sound somewhat similar in their alienated glitch states. No matter what, when I hear the bent HR-16B I think "oh, there it is again, the bent HR-16B." Not that recognizable sounds are bad but routinized "special FX" sounds become superfluous when one can easily produce quite novel "special FX" sounds otherwise.

mr. sound boy king wrote:The true secret I have about pedals and drum machines lies within the Malekko Charlie Foxtrot. It can turn a simple pattern into an ever-evolving semi-randomized I.D.M.-like insta-jam.

I have a second secret! The JoMoX M-Resonator (not technically a pedal, I know) can give drum machines so much beef you feel as though you have purchased the entire cow.

Lastly, I have recently begun experimenting with drum machines and the Red Panda Tensor. Early results indicate excellent smear but I don't understand how the pedal works yet.
Great advice here. I’ve been experimenting w the 856 for Zellersasn and Count to 5 as well w drums and everything to make rhythms. PurPLL > Charlie Foxtrot > Ct5 > 856
