Oh shit, you're my new hero. I'll have to dig into the datasheet and see what's what (the OE part is a 20 pin, and what you linked has four more) but this might be a game changer. Guess I should check eBay for stuff..

What are y'all's thoughts on the Mother 32 compared to the Neutron? I have a DFAM and wanted something to use with it.

I have Live 10 that has CV tools so I'm not necessarily trying to run a clock/modular self contained setup as I sometimes use the DFAM with Ableton but I'm considering getting either the Mother 32 or the Neutron.

No question, Neutron.

I've got both, and the DFAM, the 0-coast, and a couple of grendels - Neutron has quickly become my favorite semimodular and a key part of my entire synth setup. The Mother, might be my least favorite of the bunch.

I find the Neutron to be much more intuitive and immediate - I can dial something interesting in more or less right away, where the M32 leaves me constantly fiddling and never particularly impressed with the result. Unless you need the sequencer on the Moog, which is fiddly and a general pain in the ass, the Neutron has a wider feature set - more (and more usable) patch points, the delay and OD circuits are both alot of fun even if they are basic, two ADSRs, two oscs, etc. And you probably don't need the sequencer if you're running Live.

Really the more time I spend with the Moog, and the more I get comfortable with modular in general, the more disappointed I find myself in the M32. At this point, I'm probably going to move it in my next big sell off.

Also, not a Behringer but that microfreak is only getting less expensive and tempting (I love synth snobs... they buy the shit.. feel like it's beneath them... and then manically try to sell it for an absurdly discounted rate). #bottomfeedersynthfrogzz

Things just keep getting more and more interesting... Interesting by means of rehashing history? A dialectic perhaps?
Look... all I'm saying is 2020 is going to be a weird one. 1. USA Election 2. Acid is back apparently 3. Uzumaki is going on Toonami (just keep an eye out 10 years from now for the kids that were 12-16 now and entering the creative work force...)

Finally got my RD-8 today! It’s a surprisingly nice sounding machine. It certainly is big, but it’s not super heavy. Having all the full size everything is really satisfying. I need to play around with running some of the individual outs through some fuzzzzz.

The most surprising thing for me was the kick. It actually lived up to the hype. The sustainer and overall mix are really handy elements, and it’s a fun machine to play as opposed to setting it up to just run through your sequence. I think I might love the RD-8.

I know I’m in the honeymoon period, but where there was such a long period between ordering this and receiving this I’d actually talked myself out of this thing. So, having it win me over feels like a good sign. The UI isn’t super hard to navigate, and the sounds are phenomenal and surprisingly tweakable. It’s easy to hear why the original was used on nearly everything, and it sort of feels like it “completes” my setup in a weird way.

I was never amazingly fond of the old Roland rhythm machines - they were fun and all but I couldn't justify the $$ even when they were still cheap and available in the days almost nobody wanted them.

Money was tighter then, as well - in the days when even the gearhounds among us only had a few instruments and pedals.

I'm certainly tempted by one of these just to play with it and see if I want it around or not as even a sometimes treat.
