They do different things/have different applications... this is like comparing an acoustic guitar to an electric. That being said, I've never actually played with a TAFM so I can't give you an honest opinion about it. The Bmaster is badass, though. Get the silicon one, if you buy it.

I'm on the opposite end of the last post...I've never played The B:Assmaster. I have the TAFM and I love it.My nastiest fuzz yet and I have The FuzzFactory,Ab-Synth,E13 Tri Fuzz and E13 Soda Meiser well maybe not as nasty as the Soda Meiser. Cleans up well lots of low end.Great with bass. TAFM is very loud!!!
whoa for reals? i didn't know the tafm got that crazy!
the b:assmaster had piqued my interest a long while ago, but lots of ppl here seem to like the tafm a lot. (5 knobs and 2 switches, technically 3 i guess, is kinda intimidating to me haha lol)

Oh, no you're not, christian acoustic soundguy.
yeah, in situations like this it's tough to give an opinion that could actually help you because YOU really know what you want most.... so my recommendation is always to get a hold of both, try them out and keep the one you want and s/t the other, it's always worked for me.....
and i got to play with steevdeadman's b:assmaster a little while back the same time i had landed my TAFM and i preferred the TAFM because it's more manageable.....

I've actually owned all three varieties of B:assmasters and currently own a team awesome. The TAFM in my opinion is a better general use fuzz. The assmasters all sound great, but they seem better oriented for special use or synthy applications. In that vein, it's kind of like a Wooly Mammoth. Price wise, it's a lot of money for a specialized sound, but if space and money aren't an issue you might as well get both! And like others have mentioned, the tAFM is a lot more manageable but still has a lot of gain on tap.
Also check out the Black Cat bass octave fuzz is slightly cheaper and in a smaller package than the B:assmaster.
