Playing in Chicago!

Post by Antero »

Ladies and gentlemen, we've got some shameless self-promotion for you!

Leopold & Loeb - i.e. Antero's band - is in our last month of existence before we go on indefinite hiatus when 1/3 of the band leaves Chicago to get his physics PhD.

Meanwhile, we've got at least three shows happening...
July 5th @ Cal's
July 10th @ Reggie's
and a special acoustic set July 19th @ Jerry's on Division.

And yes, there will be DE fuzz going on.

Reggie's is the only place in Chicago I've ever seen a show, so by default it is my favorite place to see a show in Chicago. That said it was a pretty cool room.

Cal's is cooler, mayne. No offense to Reggie's, of course - excellent room, good vibe, good sound, nice people. Cal's, though, is a tiny tiny tiny punk rock bar right next to the big financial firms downtown, liquor store attached, no stage, small space, and their motto is "400 square feet of rock."

See I have never been to Cal's but I have been to Reggie's BUT never for a show. Still my favorite place for playing shows and watching is Double Door.

Now I do LOVE Reggie's because you can go to show, go to the record store, go have dinner (which they have amazing food), watch a jam band or a jazz band while eating, or get a good micro brewery beer while you enjoy the awesome limited edition posters all around and great music.

I'll have to check out Cal's though.
Anyone play at Fireside lately? I hear it's 21+ only on Sundays! Why!!!!!!?

I thought the Fireside was closed? They must have started up again while I wasn't looking. :idk:

drat drat drat drat drat!!!!

I found out about Leopold & Loeb, like, two days after the last show before your last indefinite hiatus (just before last summer and the recording session in LA). Then I think I split Chicago about a week before you guys started announcing gigs again. Now, it seems there's another (and really big) indefinite hiatus -- not to mention a really big body of water in the way.

I'm never gonna get a chance to see you guys live. <*grumble*>

In any case, break a leg!!!
