What’s your favourite pedal of type of effect to put in the Superego effects loop?

Yeah pitch related stuff (pitchshifting, vibrato...) is obviously super fun. I also like flanger and tremolo.

I might have a sweet deal on an EHX B9. I typically stay away from this type of pedal, but it might sound sweet paired with the Superego! Does anyone have much experience with the B9/C9/Mel9 etc pedals?

I like phasers / flangers / choruses for more gentle (is that possible with this pedal?) modulation, or set the phaser or flanger to step mode for a more sequencer type sound, then add things like overdrive to make it break up a bit (sometimes the Superego can be too clean / processed). A Mel 9 on flute or cello mode can be really lovely... doesn't really sound like either flute or cello but can sound weirdly atmospheric.

Or just add delay and reverb for even longer drones! I think I put a Freq-Out in it once, that was alternately beautiful / screechy depending on the setings used... seemed to be hard to control so I haven't repeated that since.

Bit Crusher was odd... sometimes sounds like the superego has gone 8 bit, other times was very harsh and broken... you might like it... depending on whether you want something musical or not I guess.

I sadly don't own a Miku, but I'd love to hear that in the Superego :)

I love my Superego but I've never really seen the point of putting something in the loop rather than behind the pedal in the chain.

I’ve wondered that as well, and whether I would use it enough that way. I like the idea of being able to play and freeze a chord or note, have that be effected by the pedals in the chain, and then play secondary pieces over top of that with just un-effected clean signal.

Favorite sorta thing was the starlight flanger on sample and hold, so something that can arpeggiate or give a lot of motion is really cool for keeping it from sounding static and sterile.

Most often recently cheapo flanger, but I also used a delay tipping into self-oscillation for awhile.

I tried a whole bunch of cheap pedals in the Superego loop last year, scientific evaluations in album form here: https://heraclitusakimbo.bandcamp.com/a ... t-superego
solo (mostly ambient): https://heraclitusakimbo.bandcamp.com/
