Toe completely change the way I listened to music back when I was younger, I never thought the drums could be the lead instrument in music. I could've swore I linked to them previously.

mouse on the keys did a similar thing for me. The first time I listened to Spectres De Mouse blew me away.

Blake Flemming (drummer) played in Laddio Bolocko after Dazzling ng Killmen, which is getting further from math and rock but still relevant here. The live recordings from this release are spectacular.

yeah, i got to see Laddio a couple times. they were great! he was also a founding member of Mars Volta. for those interested in the nuts & bolts of rhythms (mathy and otherwise), he literally wrote the book on it:
