Also doesn't Hedra do polyphony? Or is it not true poly?
I heard the polyphony on it was weak and limited to simple octave and fifth intervals.
Oh I see!

The marketing for that pedal is so weird because it seems like they want you to play single notes and let the pedal play chords based on MIDI from a keyboard or daw... when you can just play chords on your guitar already XD

After watching more demos, I think Boss' definition of polyphony and my definition are quite divergent.

So, looks like they're up for preorder in a few shops for $199. I was hoping they would be around 169 or something. I'm not in a position to buy anything right now anyways, but I'll hopefully grab one used in a few months.

I watched the Pedals and Effects video. I feel like it is cool. I also feel that I would flip it like every other synth pedal I have ever purchased. I don’t think I actually need a synth pedal?

The SY-1 looks way more flexible than the Synth Wah. Plus the Synth Wah isn't being made anymore, hasn't for years, so you would have to buy used w/no warranty.

I have the SY-300 and I bought it cos the tracking is really really good and I don't have to adjust my playing. I would assume the SY-1 tracking would be the same since its using the same tech. As far as polyphony, I have no problem playing chords, intervals or arpeggeios on the SY-300 with most patches. Only on some settings when playing jazz chords (ie maj7 b5 sus9) or very dissonant intervals (b9, maj7) does it not replicate all of the pitches (some just get lost).

Stock presets on the SY-300 were mostly corny af, but it shines when you stack square waves of different pitches and use the filters via envelope/exp/lfo. For the SY-1, it'll come down to whether you dig some of their patches (I think the non-sequenced ones can have the filter cutoff/resonance adjusted on the knobs or via expression).

Prob won't sound as good the C4, but if you're looking for "synth" sounds to integrate into your setup just to have something different than your normal clean/dirt/fuzz base tones I think this would be intriguing. We'll see once its out and once the C4's out too. Personally, I'm more interested in using a C4 for it's filter+dist/bit crush sounds and maybe the arp/tremelo.
