HM-2 with a mid boost/cut knob and frequency knob to dial in that boost/cut absolutely fucks. Also LED clipping in an HM-2 SLAPS and make its way more mix friendly. Thus, Earthbound Audio Throat Locust IS A BOP.

Also, on topic, vintage fuzz units have never interested me. Potential reasons include: Reverse jacks, not 9V center negative power, no LED indicators, inefficient jack/knob/swich placements, higher priced, no warranty, inconsistency between units, no oscillation/gate switch, etc. I'm not one to stray away from out of date methods and processes but vintage fuzz just doesn't seem worth the investment having grown up on Devi/ILF fuzzes.

You fuckin’ know what’s happening - that shit SLAPS.

I go back and forth between my original I bought for $50 and the HMD-1 - the OGs seem to be selling for more reasonable amounts lately. I see them for $99 used on craigslist even. Two years ago you’d be seeing them for $250.

Another Throat Locust fanboy here. I still want to try the XIX but the TL is one of my favorite dirt pedals. Plus it pulls double duty for me with guitar or bass.

The super spendy shit is dropping in value but the "sleepers" have all gone up in price -- it feels like this is happening for instruments and amps as well as pedals.

Agree, I've been watching the prices on V4s steadily rise since I picked up my first one. They've gone up in price about $200 since then. I'm gonna have to start saving up for another one soon before they become more expensive than I wanna spend on one. :grumpy:

Prices typically take a dip this time of the year on used stuff especially.

People don't by and large play guitar as much in "good" weather and start flipping things, and people stop gassing constantly because they're stuck indoors bored.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

The resale market is awful right now, just awful but I'm ok with that on the one hand. It sucks on the other. I just had a fire sale on pedals that I didn't think some would ever fall into that category. I was incorrect. Modular has taken over the largest presences it seems for dudes willing to drop fat cash on effects.

If you don't make offers under 60% of the asking price, you'll probably never have that issue ;)

I saw a MIT HM-2 for $59 on a local shops Instagram. The market definitely crashed. I wish I was closer to downtown, I’d have bought it just to A/B to my MIJ.
