Re: Thee Many Moods of the Moog Matriarch
I think the morning of the day after it was announced. Must have been Saturday?
Someone on MW said they got the notification and had ordered it first thing on Friday.
It's possible they oversold the first batch but I distinctly remember someone on MW saying that they talked to a rep and by Sunday they hadn't gone through their Moogfest allotment.

You can't trust those ETAs @MF/GC/WWBW. They constantly change. I've ordered gear, and seen a week wait turn into 2 months and a 2-month wait turn into a week. Whatever they share on the product page is based on info passed on by the manufacturers for future orders, but it's rarely precise to the exact date.
Also, be prepared for the posted date to keep moving back in 1-week increments, until voila they've arrived----two weeks before the latest ETA. Then you're left wondering why you pre-ordered in advance, when everyone got theirs all at once (May-July).

Did some sleuthing around Gearslutz (ew) and apparently:
In a chat session, Jared from Moog said: "We are set to start building in late Summer with initial shipments beginning late September/early October. "

No specific gripe, just the elitism over there from time to time grinds my gears.Ugly Nora wrote:Well that's disheartening. Jared knows his stuff I'm sure.
What's our problem with Gearslutz? I've never spent any significant amount of time there, I've just gone there when a google search leads me there every now and then. They seem knowledgeable.
Also fwiw GC just charged me... which sucks doubly if it's really not coming until October lol.

Are you sure they actually charged it? It is probably just a hold. That's what MF did to me.

On instagram, I've seen Moog reply to a few users about how they're still targeting "end of summer" for the Matriarch's to start shipping.
The fact that this guy got a review copy already makes me hopeful they're on track.

I'm pretty sure I read some of those and it sounded like end of summer for the Moogfest edition. Unfortunately, I didn't get a Moogfest edition, so it will likely be later for meMuse FTW wrote:On instagram, I've seen Moog reply to a few users about how they're still targeting "end of summer" for the Matriarch's to start shipping.

You don't like Loopop videos? They're not usually the most exciting, but they're usually very informative. I'm finally getting a chance to watch it now

I got a call from my local shop yesterday and my order has officially been moved back to September. Still haven't paid anything more than a deposit though

Nah, I can sit in front of a new instrument and read a manual.MrNovember wrote:You don't like Loopop videos? They're not usually the most exciting, but they're usually very informative. I'm finally getting a chance to watch it now
Real talk tho his 22 reasons Make Noise Maths video helped me out. Obviously he is in youtube's suggestion algorithm for a reason, people dig his videos. A few in his comments said they put in a preorder after watching. But I typically do not click because he's never creatively using the product, nothing is musically interesting or fun. I'm not wasting 20 minutes of my day with a demo that isn't going to get me inspired to make music. And judging by the mounting confusion on my partners face while watching his Behringer Model D video trying to figure out her first synth she was gifted... they aren't beginner friendly videos either. So I don't really know who the target audience is when so many other demoers are just as informative yet more inspired/inspiring.

Knowledgable, but sometimes they kind of remind me of synth-TGP. The last good samplers and synths were made before 1995, unless they're boutique. Like TGP it's far from universal but there are just enough posts like that to be noticeable.Ugly Nora wrote:What's our problem with Gearslutz?
