Bumping this up... Any opinions on the DBA Waveformer Destroyer or DBA Soundwave Breakdown for synths/oscillators? I only see Youtube demos with guitars.

^^^ I really disliked the waveform destroyer when I had it, too unpredictable regarding volume changes when you engage/disengage things. If you're running it into a limiter/hot tube amp that might work for you, otherwise a hard pass in my book.

My personal favorite that I've tried is the Team Awesome Fuzz Machine. This is a pretty low quality video but the TAFM comes in at 0:45 (Eau Claire stacked at 1:24)

Somebody's already said DOD Death Metal, right? Dwayne Goettel used an HM-2 and like he knew how to distort synths...

Yes I did , on page 1! :D Digitech or DOD, the Grunge is also good (which actually is a Death metel without mid pot and a gain control), HM2 and MT2, the MXR Fullbore MEtal, etc.. etc... !
Big Muff are also interesting, but the Death Metal/HM2 have a better taste for my ears.

Not sure what "work well with synths" means for their application but here's what I like.

Wolf Computer - Scratchy scratch.Starve and squelch control tweaking is a lot of fun for sequences.
ss/bs TAFM - Clean blend and gate options are wonderful for anything trying to hold onto low end.
Devi Ever OK if you are sequencing and wanna fuck shit up lo-fi style
ss/bs Mini works well with every application I have tried so far.
I had a lot of fun processing an Organelle with an Infanem Improbability Drive

I've used a Moen Fuzz Moo (a really good near clone of a Green Russian Big Muff ) when re amping some keyboards from Ableton. Or to really screw the sound up the Seppuku Octave Drone destroys anything you put through it if you need harsh deconstruction of clean keyboards. It is a bit too fierce so I often run it into a reverb to tame it a bit.
