Boost pedal

Post by sylnau »

What else would be similar to the Xotix EP Booster... but more ILF approved?
Something to fatten and give more dimension to a clean tone.

Does it need to be mini?

No, but not too big either.

I use a Menatone Red Snapper mini for this purpose and it can also double as an excellent, proper OD.

Totally dig it.

For pure boost I really love the Clinch FX Burnish Boost and their EP-Pre is amazing too.

i really like the Skreddy Dynamic mids enhancer. it's got three midrange controls and a level knob. it makes everything sound better.

for a flat clean boost, i really like the TC mini Spark.

Also, may I suggest getting a Megalith and using that as a fuzz and a boost and then also never playing clean cause....you know. Duh reasons.

That's kind of what I meant with the Tetanus. It'll boost your clean .. and sound better because it has hair

I have been obsessed with the colorsound booster for a while. They are insane with tons of gain and bass and treble eq. Maxed out the distort and sound really nasty, loud as hell too unless you get one with a master volume (which is for wusses)

For a fatter clean tone, i love Colorsound Overdriver and Power Booster, even if the first one is really wonderful also at high gain levels. Also, the boost mode on the Boss Hyper Fuzz is great, along with the old DOD Bi-Fet Preamp.

For boosting a dirty sound, i still prefer the LAL Thunder Boxx, or the 3Leaf Little Back Box.
You're not a musician, you're a low frequencies generator!

Oh yeah the boost on the FZ-2 rules! Everybody seems to drag it but when I had one it was the only mode I liked

I found a really good use case for one of these recently. Also, wouldn’t one of these potentially boost your guitar enough to interact with modular things? Did ohnoho hang up his spurs? Does anyone else get gas for ILF pedals that are long extinct by now?

Clone EP-3 is very TGP. Anyone do an RE-201 pre in a pedal?
