Math Rock!

Post by raj007 »

I always feel silly saying “math rock” but here we are. I’ve been exploring this genre more lately (really for the first time)...which bands or albums are a “must” for you?

So far, I’ve really enjoyed Don Caballero, LITE, Clever Girl, Chon, Giraffes? Giraffes!

Bring em on.

Also this video, their first album slams hard but this version of the song is miles better than the later recorded version.

Here's something poppier. Still really cool

Check out Three Trapped Tigers, they are amazing. Also worth a listen are The Physics House Band and Nuito. Stellar bands.

I didn't like the new Physics House Band material when I last saw them.

Three Trapped Tigers are one of the best bands going in any genre though.

That does really sound awesome, but over time a bit too hectic for my taste. They have no lyrics at all?

NO lyrics (luckily)

Anyway a few years back I saw this:

It's not updated with the latest bands but the main ones are there, surely useful for somebody who's starting to dig in
