Tremolo pedal

Post by sylnau »

I'm looking for a tremolo pedal that sound similar to an amp trem.

Any people have tried the Demeter Tremulator (two knobs version) or the Supro Tremolo? Any thoughts on those two?

My buddy has the old Demeter Tremulator since almost 20 years. It sounds very good and amp-like.
I bought again the Hiwatt Tube Tremolo. My first one shit the pants and lost somehow it's depth after almost 2 years. Thanks to the guaranty i got the tone back. Now i saw one again at a very good price and bought it again. It is more complex and scalable than the Tremulator and i dig it more...

I've never owned the Demeter, but I've used the VibraVox for years, which is an outgrowth of the Vox amp tremolo. I wouldn't overlook the new Fender Tre-Verb for amp trem sounds either. Good luck.

The Carl Martin Surf Trem sound pretty good if vintage amp-like trem is your thing. Pretty cheap as well.

The Demeter Tremulator and the Supro Tremolo seems to have a bump in volume (not unity). Would that be a problem? I always had amp with trem but my next amp probably won't have a trem.

I already have the Mid-Fi Electric Yggdrasil... it's a great phase cancelling vibrato... but it doesn't do the bias tremolo thing I'm looking for.

Thanks uni... I'll look for some demos tonight when I'll be home.

The demeter trem of my buddy has a trim pot on the side to adjust the volume.

It's not true bypass. Do you know if it might cause problem with some fuzz especially oscialiting fuzz? I guess if I place the fuzz before the trem it should behave properly?

Guyatone VT-2/3 is amp-like and cheap. Buffered bypass so put it after oscillating fuzz. I sold mine because it was so amp-like. I am bored AF with amp-like trem.

I got a trem thing I ordered last year from dunwich. Does regular trem and harmonic trem. I usually use the harmonic trem and it’s very amp like, as far as sounding like the “vibrato” from old fenders and such. Simple controls that are pretty sensitive. Great price with a custom etch. And it sounds insanely good. Hit him up. He’ll do one offs and custom stuff for really reasonable prices. I love mine.

This one seems interesting. :thumb:

That's me… I started a thread and then I find a new sound with a pedal I already have. I just noticed that if I lowered the balance and the depth knob a lot, I get a standard trem sound out of the Electric Yggdrasil and it sould really good, really 3D ish.

I haven't had an amp with an amp trem, but I gotta say my fulltone supa trem sounds pretty dang good. Both modes are nice. It lacks a tap tempo thing which I suppose could've been cool to have

I heard if you hit your cab with a ball bat hard enough that it will cause a trem type effect. Of course, I'm completely lying and have nothing to add here.
