Anybody tried Bigfoot FX?

Post by StudioShutIn »

I was just browsing around on DiscoFreq's FX site and came across this company called Bigfoot FX.
They sell the Magnavibe (a Magnatone amp-style vibrato) and the Spaghetti Western Fuzz (mid-rangey 60's fuzz)
anybody tried these and have any info to relate?

AdamFlybot posted a shot of his board over in the "Let's See Your Pedal Board" thread, and he had a Spaghetti Western on it. (Scroll down here to see: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=393&p=85406&hilit=bigfoot+fx#p85406 ). I think he posted some comments about it, but you may have to click through the pedal board thread a bit to find 'em.

The clips that Bigfoot has posted on their site sounded good to me!

I borrowed this one from a friend. It's and older, custom model. It sounded pretty good to me. My friend loves it because he said it sounds just like a Magnatone, something I cannot directly compare it to since I've never played one.

I borrowed this one from yet another friend. This one was a bit too shrill for my tastes, but fun nonetheless.

I have a Spaghetti Western Fuzz.
It's pretty sweet. I used to have a BJF Candy Apple Fuzz and they are pretty similar.
There are a lot of 60's tones ranging from Shin Ei FY-2 to a Fuzzrite to FZ-2 and a little octavia can be had too.
It's pretty versatile and the volume and fuzz knob are pretty interactive with each other. Also the Fuzz knob doesn't change the degree of fuzz (that is done with your guitar volume) it changes the voicing of the fuzz.

I like it, it's pretty weird.
also, the builder gives amazing customer service and will try to fix any problems you may have, even for 2nd hand owners.

If the Spaghetti Western is 'bright and shrill' on some rigs....then it would probably be like ice-picks on a chalkboard through my already-bright rig
curses, foiled again! *goes back to the search for some sort of gain device* :picard:

Bumping this old thread as I have a Spaghetti Western Fuzz incoming. (Also have a SS/BS Super Puzzle coming in, so my fuzz world is about to get a lot more fun!)

Tried a friends SWF a couple months back, loved it, and haven't been able to get my mind off of it.

So anyone here still rockin' the SWF?
