T-Rex files for bankruptcy

Post by echorec »

Apparently they filed Feb. 21st in Danish court.

Their debt isn't huge, compared to filings by other companies, so perhaps they can be purchased by a smaller outfit, not named named Behringer. :(

I thought TC had bought them like 15 years ago but I guess TC just bought a bunch of their designs and then released them as the Vintage series in the early 2000s.

The T-Rex Room-Mate was the first pedal I ever tried. It was way out of my price range at the time, and now I kind of want one for nostalgia's sake.

Damn. I was wondering why the Replicator had been discontinued. Glad I just picked up a Replicator Jr and some replacement tapes :snax:

The original owners bought back the company this week. It will live on.

They will have to pull it out of Bankruptcy first unless they paid all the debtors (I hope not lol). Will be interesting to see! Hope they do well!

I've NEVER tried any of their stuff. It's all too meh to me. Even the echo stuff. I just, I dunno...I'm so fucking jaded anymore. hahaha Wish them well however!

T-Rex has a weird nostalgia spot in my gear heart but I’ve only ever owned one of their pedals.

The Tonebug reverb was the first non-Boss pedal I ever bought and part of my first “serious” board. Sparkle Drive - Big Muff - MXR Analog Delay - DD7 - Tonebug into an old Fender Bronco. I thought I had reached the top of the gear world. In retrospect that is still a board I would rock.

If they do start back up again, I wish them the best. I still probably won’t buy any of their stuff though. :/
