Anyone know is the Flanger Hoax is similar to the Lovetone ?
Has anyone had hands on experience with both the Flange? With No Name and the Flanger Hoax? Any comparisons?

They're not very similar. The ? Flanger is more traditional in design with a bunch of options that let you get a wide variety of sounds. It does the big tubular ADA type sound with ease. The Flanger Hoax is thinner sounding and more conceptual. It breaks a lot of the modulation elements out so you can adjust them as you please. As a result there are a lot of "wrong" settings where it does nothing.

Yes, owned both. Sold the Hoax on here after modding it for normal 9vDC.
The Lovetone is an expanded control single-delay line analog flanger (time) with a parallel fixed depth tremolo circuit (space) with a FX loop insert for the flanger regeneration, with triangle and square LFOs available for both sides, and postive and negative regen.
It can do a lot of cool flange-y sounds plus a heap more noisy stuff. Can get pretty trippy with both the time and space going.
The Hoax is a dual-delay line analog through zero capable flanger, with a massive learning curve, but some really great sounds. The downside is the high noisy floor (loud hiss on a lot of settings) and the fact its very tricky to learn. way harder than the lovetone, which is known to be tough as it is (!).
The best thing they have in parallel is they will both self oscillate wildly, which can be really cool if you are into that.

Id like to toss a flanger hoax in the loop of a question mark.BetterOffShred wrote:Plus you can put another flange into the loop on the ? .. pretty solid
