EHX Canyon Users: I have ?'s

Post by Jero »

Sooo I know the Canyon has tap tempo, but the pedal turns off/on when tapping...

Have you found this to be an issue at all?
and does it still turn on/off when using an external tap switch instead?

Basically I want a delay that can do the warped shit when changing tempos (tapped). Despite the on/off when tapping, the Canyon can still do this, though I haven't found any clips showing it much.

I have others in mind that I know do this well, but the Canyon has all the other modes/goodies + low price point.

Have not futzed with the onboard switch for tap tempo. I use an external tap, which works beautifully. It does not turn the pedal on/off; it just taps the tempo, and does so whether or not the pedal is bypassed.

As for making bendy squiggles when changing tempos: some modes do it (DMM, for example), some don't (the plain ol' digital delay mode).

Thank you! Being able to tap when it's off or on is nice. That's something I've found annoying with some other stuff. Do you still have to make sure you tap in even numbers? Just curious (When using the on board tap, it needs to be even or you'll end up with the pedal bypassed of course).

Thanks for the note about only certain modes, good to know. How are you liking all the modes? Which ones do you find yourself using most?

I primarily use the regular digital mode, as the nuances of the more analogish-sounding modes tend to get lost in the pit of dirt and static that is my, er, tone. Lots to love in the other modes, though. DMM is especially great for a analog-flavored delay.

I don't think that tapping in even numbers is required; of it is, i have not noticed.
