Hey guys,
I'm totally new to this so I'll probably be asking stupid questions but any advice is welcomed.
I need a portable recording device that has a decent direct line in, better if it records also in low quality like Mp3 so I can listen to what I record while driving home.
I don't want to spend tons of money on it, so, as long as it's usable, the cheaper, the better.
I've already been using a Zoom with my band but it's not mine and I need it while playing during lunchtime at work.
Thanks!

A Zoom H1 or H1n is probably a good solution. Simple and reliable, small and easy to use. Records from mp3 up to 24bit/96KHz if I remember correctly.

That was my first thought. Beside zoom is there anything else in the market?
Side question, is there something that records and directly connects to a phone/tablet for easier file management?

I'm pretty sure there are iPad/iPhone peripherals that allow you to record direct to your phone or tablet.Dowi wrote:That was my first thought. Beside zoom is there anything else in the market?

Too bad I'm not a Mac user, should have specified it.WORMDIRT wrote:I'm pretty sure there are iPad/iPhone peripherals that allow you to record direct to your phone or tablet.Dowi wrote:That was my first thought. Beside zoom is there anything else in the market?

Sound Devices makes a battery powered usb interface that Sylvia Massy uses. Mix Pre 10m. It's probably got way too many inputs for your needs but they might have something smaller.
