2018 gear goals?

I've failed my goals mostly. Bought a few things here and there even though I didn't want to buy anything. The only plus side is I've also sold things.

1) Sell my Twin, never bonded with it
2) Find a different 2nd amp which is really not needed anyway
3) Actually put together final lineup for a pedalboard and try to swap things in/out
4) Maybe make a 2nd board for a few extra pedals, both boards would be similar to a PT Jr in size but a DIY build
5) Decide to keep and expand the tabletop setup, or go modular
6) Put out another solo album
7) Get the band to play our 1st show
8) Maybe play a solo show
9) Keep up on the ILF collaborations
10) upgrade my turntable
11) try to do proper gear demos

Great way to start this year by looking at my goals from last year and coming to the realization I only achieved 1 of 11. Not for lack of trying but ultimately still a failure.

I actually completed a few of mine, but a lot of my plans changed before I got to them. The only ones I'm disappointed about are that I haven't bought monitors, that I never got to half the DIY stuff, and I never bought a 3D printer.

This is the first year I actually have a plan/goals that I want to achieve:
1) buy a 3D printer, print custom mounts, stands, and knobs for all the things
2) move my upright piano from my parents house to my house, have it tuned, continue learning to play it properly, possibly even take lessons
3) replace battery in DX7, upload factory presets, learn to program it
4) build the random DIY things I have laying around (AllFlesh, MIDI to CV thing, Sterling Silo 20)
5) circuit bend all the random shit I have laying around (Casio MT140, Boss DS-1, Korg Monotron Delay)
6) buy a proper mixer and monitors
7) buy a new amp (probably a Fender Bassbreaker)
8) buy a Polymoon
9) buy/build a 12 string electric

Likely 2019 goals, but who knows how 2018 will actually go:
1) buy an Intellijel 104hp 4U case and finalise my euro plans
2) buy a Make Noise Shared System Plus
3) video synthesis

So it's been like 10 hours since I posted this and I already need to edit it New 2018 goal, get an Elektron Digitakt (maybe trade or sell my Drumbrute for one because I doubt I'd be using it after getting a Digitakt)

So looks like my 2019 goals are:
1) buy a 3D printer
2) buy proper studio monitors
3) circuit bend and DIY stuff
4) record some things
5) learn more piano
6) buy a Mutable Stages and Clouds

Buying gear:
Pladask Fabrikat YES
New predirt reverb(probably a Holy Grail) DONE. 2 RV-3s. Non of them pre-dirt though, but as only verbs on the board(s).
Sampler
Behringer Model D-clone GOT A VOLCA BASS TO USE WITH THE KMI 12-STEP
Studio gear(mics, preamps, outboard gear) BOUGHT 11 MICS, CUBASE AND A LOT OF PLUGINS. And a new floor for the studio.
Reel-to-reel
Get a backup baritone. Prolly a Squier. Sort of DONE, converting the telemaster to a baritone

Fix/DIY:
Change the nut on the telemaster. CHANGED THE NECK INSTEAD.
Add Bigsby to telemaster DONE
Mod the Traynor TS-25 so I can hook it up to my big cabs. DONE
Maybe get a Mastery-trem and bridge for the Puresalem Reverberation.
Upgrade my lapsteel with a Deusenberg Multi bender. DONE

One thing I need to add to my gear goals is a new bass head. Not sure if I'll go SS(like an older GK) or tube(really want a V4). GOT A V4

Looks like I completed most of my Gear Goals, except for samples, reel-2-reel and Mastery Trem for the Reverberation.
Still want all of that, so I'll guess that turns up on the "gear goals 2019"-list.

Similar goals to last year, just scaled up a bit.

1: Sell like *cough*40*cough* guitars/basses and replace them with a couple super high end pieces I can use daily instead of every six months when I stumble across them in the guitar pile. 6/10, didn't sell as many as I'd planned but still came out with fewer than I had at the start of the year, I think. Most of the ones that came in I bought explicitly to resell, as well.

2: Sell maybe five amps (especially most of the heavy-ass vintage ones) and replace them with a couple much lighter pieces. Successfully did this with my bass rig over 2017, now it's time to work in earnest on the guitar stuff, which is much more challenging. 0/10, sold two... but bought five.

3: Finally get a legit banjo, mandolin, etc. Just keeps getting put off because it's much harder to find ones I like used vs guitar/bass gear, but I really do need to get it done. Would pick up a lot of extra work. 0/10, couldn't find any I liked for the right price.

4: Finish the rest of my project pieces and move on any I don't need and don't take on any more until the backlog has cleared up considerably. 5/10 on the "finish" part, -2/10 on the "don't take on any more" part. I'm also stuck in the "find obscure vintage part" stage for a few, so I don't foresee things improving.

5: Start building an efficient recording rig. 0/10, acquired literally nothing useful in this regard.

I suck at this.

video synth. That was my goal last year, but goddammit, it’s gonna happen this year. Especially where the release of the LZX Vidiot, has essentially halved the startup cost for video synthesis.
