if you have the real estate, maybe consider a utility pedal like the Pigtronix Keymaster...that way you can add clean blend to any pedal.

Or a smaller less expensive Pladask Kniv.

Yeah anything like that will work. I dont even think they make those Keymasters anymore anyway. It was just an example.

:idk: I've never had luck with phasers in blend pedals... there is always a phase issue for me..

My understanding of a phaser is a clean channel which is mixed to varying degrees (typically via LFO) with an out of phase leg. Therefore, the "depth" control is essentially a clean blend.

^^Similarly, I'm pretty sure the feedback knob on my mutron functions in this way.

You can do it on the Source Audio One Series Lunar (or the Flanger, etc, any of the modulation pedals are the same pedal under the hood and contain all the modulation algos - and can be hacked to become any of the other ones).

Not that I've wanted it, because, well, if I want phase, I want...phase.

I went down this hole a couple months ago when I got tired of my Phase 90 taking over and bogarting my tone. Here's what I found, hope it helps:

~Expensive AF, but niiice:
Empress Phaser
CBA Wombtone mkII (mkI doesn't have the mix option)

~Mid-level:
Walrus Vanguard
Mr Black Twin Lazers
Alexander La Calavera
Mad Prof Tiny Orange

~Undy a Hundy:
TCE Helix
KOKKO Phaser (only recommended if you're down to your last $37 and hate yourself)
and of course the Greatest Pedal Of All Time**.....the Line 6 M5

**that may or may not be true, but this is my first ILF post so be gentle.

Inconuucl: I can shoegaze that tune with 5 pedals.
other contestant: I can shoegaze that tune with 4 pedals.
Inconuucl: I can shoegaze that tune with 3 pedals.
other contestant: OK, shoegaze that tune!

Yup. My understanding as well. If the Phasor switches the phase of the original signal at the output stage (like some buffers and mixers), a clean blend could have some phase cancel issues I guess in theory.

I guess you could complicate it with the phaser sweep going out of phase with an put of phase copy...then clean blend in the original for three phases (bi-phasor!).

I just put a leaf spring on the mustang!

I was just looking at the controls of that dogmatek artic wolf and I had a thought. The old Morley and the castle phaser have a kind of offset for the LFO (and manual control of course ) that may be something to help...like the lfo will only sweep the an amount based on the offset (kind like depth is attenuation, this would be a offset like it has the full sweep just with different voltages...it starts in a different spot).

Flanhers do that where they'll dwell longer in the negative or positive voltages and come up real quick before returning. Snazzy did a bit of this with tremolo on the Divine hammer....sometimes you could offset the lfo where it wouldn't even affect the signal the circuit and it would just be a distortion (basically keeping the signal high enough on the control voltage all the time so there isn't any noticable drop or sweep in amplitude because it's always operating at full voltage)

Basically, just some different LFO controls that tailors the sweep of the degree of out of phaseness.

Also things like that dogmatek (I think) and aphazing let you attenuate the positive or negative part of the lfo...so you could have different degrees of phase at the peaks and valleys.

Speaking of aphazing....it has a few different modes for different styles of phase that may be helpful.

Just to ramble on some more...

Why not, instead of a clean blend, use something like that bored brain transmutron to split the signal between a hpf and lpf...then just phase one of those?
