My band got some (strange) press in a far off state

Post by effetebomb »

http://thephoenix.com/Supplements/2010/50States/Alaska/

this boston weekly newspaper the phoenix calls my band the best new band in Alaska in a 50 states 50 bands thing. All pics and videos are from late 2006 (y'know, when people still used myspace) so its pretty weird. also it slams our sax player who is a pretty talented player and constantly dumbs it down for us. i dont play drums standing anymore, and my hair is pink from a halloween costume. all in all, disparaging, bizarre and outdated press, but still kinda cool. no idea who wrote it, or how they found us.

Huh. Weird. The Phoenix is Boston's major "alternative" paper... in fact, it's a New England franchise now, with arms in Providence, Portland Maine and (I think) New Hampshire. Congrats! I'll have to see if the Providence Phoenix is carrying the same story.

And hey - at least they called your saxophonist's playing "endearing."

But yeah, kind of bizarre. Chalk it up to the magic of Thee Interwebs!
