they didn't even cancel mail delivery when FDR or JFK died, and neither of them died in the height of the Christmas shopping/shipping season. coming soon: required sackcloth-'n'-ashes when old Prexies die.

Yea, it was weird. My carrier was kinda pissed. She's like, "Thursday rain ... I'm going to have double the mail in the rain". It's a big logistical nightmare in LA when it rains...everybody drives like their brains are mush and the streets ain't setup to drain...6"deep water everywhere .

Bush wasnt even that beloved of a republican around here...I grew up in a red county and they all went to Clinton on that second term because they read bush as a liar with that "no new taxes" thing...plus I think they felt he was just skating by on Reagan's "tough guy" thing. Kinda funny thinking about it. Probably, if it wasn't Dukakis running in the first place, we might not of had bush I.

I don't ever remember a day of mourning. It's really weird. I told my carrier Trump is going to try and spin it like a bank holiday where "I saved the country x amount of dollars with that day off" haha.
