Phil and I had this one tucked up our sleeve for a while. Thankfully, we didn't fuck it up. We seem to have been on a streak of stupid errors of late. This one fired right up, and all the silkscreening was correct too! Phew!

Triffid is the DEFX clone board of the Spaceman Nebula. This, so far in my Spaceman Effects adventures, is my absolute favorite fuzz so far. I mean... ever. This is a "desert island" unit. My Burny LP Special Black Beauty, this fuzz box, my L11 head, and a 2 x 12 cab loaded with Texas Heats. I'm good. Of course.... I'll need a generator, and an unlimited supply of gas too, but I digress...

And I've had a few comments on how I heatsink my germanium diodes, so here's a close up. For those of you that have drooled over Univox Superfuzz guts (the big cast units, early numbers), this will look familiar.

The Ge diodes are 1N118's, with a 1S1588 riding shotgun.

In "BITCH" mode, this thing has the craziest decay. Like your signal is being run through a phaser with a sore throat. Majestic.

Damn you and your tantalizing distractions!

The Triffid looks delightful, I may have to add to my "to-do" pile again at some point... shame that pile only grows up though.

Dig the purple fuzz & arcade switcher as well.

That's a nice etch. I'm not usually a fan of etched graphics but I find that really works. What circuit is it? Guts photo?

Nice!

Though.. not to throw the book at you but: "The DIY forum is for personal projects (things that are not for sale, not in production)". Maybe this rule has been abandoned, idk.

Ah, sorry about that. I'll stop posting them here. I just post them here because more people talk here than in the shark tanks.

I'll keep it to one offs things not for sale and personal projects. :thumb:

I get it, there's a lot of cool stuff in the shark tanks, so it's natural that some spills over here as well. So I shouldn't be the one to draw a line in the sand there. Tbh I enjoy seeing different small builders as well as amateur work in this thread, I've just gotten used to it being more of a prototype/one-off/gutshot kind of thread.

Took me this long to complete the build I previously posted about, systems went in and back out, etc...
