I'd be down for a pedal that's just the HM-2's eq

I’m with that. I liked HM-2 dirt including in barely noticeable quantities. But there’s something special about that eq, particularly the bass band for my use.

This would be rad, especially with the parametric mids from the throat locust.

the special sauce in the eq is that it is so high output it clips the last amplifier stage. I think there is a guy who mods hm2s so that you can turn the distortion section off and just use the eq. i bet it would be fun in a standalone unit though. unless that is that someone can confirm it is actually different from slamming 80hz and 1,2k on a regular eq

Thanks for that interesting tidbit. Yeah it would explain why an eq pedal won't get you all the way there.

Fredrix Lyxzén (Parasit Studio) has made a layout for an HM-2 EQ daughterboard (low/high/vol). He thinks up cool stuff, so I'll probably have a go at that some day.

I have a Taiwan HM-2 which I love. The gain is set at a hair above 0, usually it has various dirt/boost pedals going into it as well.. really makes things pop out.

I think it's never been available other than as a layout for DIYing: https://www.parasitstudio.se/stripboard ... /boss-hm-2

Swede Saw has gone through a few iterations of the PCB and I'm pretty sure it's goodish to go. He's just getting out the Salt Boxes first.

I see a picture of four red knobs sitting loose on what appears to be a Trapper Keeper from 1986
