Swap input and output on Russian Big Muff?

Post by the_necropolitan »

Hi,
I'm pretty new to this electronics thing. I'm just getting into modding pedals, and I want to make myself a fancy, tricked out Big Muff. I have the black Big Muff Russian reissue, and I've got my head around switching out diodes, caps, etc. However, I hate the fact that that the input is on the left and the output is on the right. Does anyone have a link to, or is anyone willing to provide a tutorial on how I could swap the input to the output and vice versa? I've seen people selling pedals with this mod, and I'd like to do it myself. Thanks!

You would literally just swap the connections. Desolder wire from one, solder it to the same place on the other and vice versa. I think the pots in those are board mounted, might be easier to leave the jacks attached while doing this.

On both my Green Big Muff and Russian transitional I just switched the board around. Literally flipped the board the other way and it worked out.

Yep just turn the board upside down and hey presto you're done.

Only have my V7 Black Transitional with me, but should be the same for any of them cos I did the same to my Green Russian.

You might want to put some sort of paper in between the board and the casing to insure it doesn't short out or anything when if it touches.

Then flip it over.......and...VOILA!
